qb/ptp thread

Tiers can get a bit wonky but some years are heavy and deep, some arent. Like wr, this qb class is top heavy and deep. There will be a ton of good options in the 2nd-4th rounds if we get the majority of the class coming out.

Mestemaker isn't a "name" to the public yet but he will be soon. Hes got silly arm talent, truly top tier stuff for his age. Very "whippy" arm. It's on full display when he has to adjust to pressure and throw on the move. All these guys practice these passes on the move, off one leg etc Looks very natural making those off platform, athletic-type passes. He's got a big bag of tricks to pull from when it comes to his arm. Again top tier stuff. 6'4/215 with a special mix of instincts and creativity and is only 20. Hes a baby but when hes on hes on. He needs more big game reps. More practice against NFL caliber prospects. He'll get that at OKST. When he remains patient, trust his protection hes very capable of going through his progressions and making good decisions. Very efficient on rpo. Quick release really shines off those plays. Very quick compact delivery although his mechanics do need a lot of work. Very good on short-intermediate stuff. Very nice deep although in can fall flat or take off on him a bit. Hes got some athleticism as well. Definitely much more of a passer but like almost every qb nowadays he can take off if he needs to. His mechanics are the main issue. His footwork can be a mess. From stance, drive leg to just happy feet. Has to adjust to launch point at times. Has to tighten up his delivery on a whole. Its quick but he drops his hands too much. Hes a very smart kid. He didnt play qb in hs, wasn't a starter, walked on North Texas, started immediately and looked liked hed belong and was a 5* recruit after 1 game. Passed for over 600 yards in another. He's got a nice sense of poise about him on and off the field. Morris is perfect for a guy like him. I expect him to be a future 1st round pick for sure. This year or 28. Hes got plenty of time if he wants.

I know theres a few names missing. Ill add as I get situated.

I hope a lot of QBs go 1st round.
I have a feeling a lot will wait until 28. All these guys know supply/demand by now. So it'll help a lot of RS SOJR types or even a certain big name QB but the potential is there for a tsunami of QBs. If Mensah, Carr, Mestemaker have anywhere near Heisman type years it'll be hard for them to stay and say no to a possible top 5 pick. That'll push 6-7 going round 1 which we obviously want.
