2026 UDFA Thread - aka Best Thread Of The Year

I think he automatically becomes the UDFA most likely to make the opening roster.

I think he automatically becomes the most recent addition to my binkie list.

Seems a little undersized. Bruschi was 6’1” but much more than 227. Maybe if this kid can add some bulk without losing speed and agility. Otherwise I’m worried he will be manhandled at his present weight.

Jacobs plays faster than his timed speed. He's got good instincts and seems to know where his teammates are supposed to be. Which is what allowed him to make the play in the clip against Alabama. He knew that the receivers were covered and that he could go after the QB without leaving a hole in coverage.

It will be interesting to see if he can beat out anyone for a spot in the LB corps.

Like Speed and Size, natural instincts and the confidence in them can't be taught.

Who do you want?

J Michael Sturdivant or Deion Burks if they don't get drafted. Taurean York would be a god UDFA too.

Declan Williams and Khalil Jacobs are very similar players, I think they want one of these guys to turn into another Spillane who can play at the line of scrimmage and stuff the run... both of these guys are strong. Namdi Obiazor is more of an athlete, they probably want him to become the future behind Elliss... a guy who can play in space.

I'd put my money on Jacob Rizy at guard, Kenneth Harris at CB or Myles Montgomery at RB... but there's a lot of good UDFA options to choose from, that's not always the case.

If they don't end up trading for AJ Brown, I like the potential of all the UDFA WR's they brought in, but especially Kyle Dixon, Logan Collier and Nick DeGennaro. These guys are raw but talented.

At the end of the day they could send a lot of players to the practice squad for further development. They brought in a lot of gifted undrafted talents.

Obviously Vrabel doesn’t think it’s a problem that the guy struggled so much last year… Maybe he’ll get back on track but he really sucked
Baringer didn't struggle all that much.. There was a lot of situational punting last year.

They really like Kyle Dixon. I liked his highlight tape that was posted. Now I'm officially in.

the issue with that tape is that most of the deep passes into the End Zone would have ended up as a PBU and not a reception because Dixon waits for the reception and didn't go after it. He also doesn't get his hands out away from his body when he's catching. the reception made at the 3min mark would have been called OPI because he pushed off.

While he looked good breaking tackles in that vid, it's very unlikely he'll be able to do the same against NFL Caliber talent.

You give one example to support your claim. Why didn't you mention the other 200+ guys that ran a 4.7+ 40 and failed? You think one guy that succeeded in the last 20 years (2003 - 2017), ONE GUY, proves your point. You think Chism III is the next ONE GUY for the next 20 years (2025 - 2039)? C'mon dude. Be real. Bah, Bah, Bah.

Yes, we should give a guy that was starting a lot in his rookie year when Hollins was out, and looked awful, another full year? Dude, Chism III sucks, we need a new Slot. Bah, Bah, Bah
3 receptions for 75 yards. That's what Chism got during the regular season. He had another reception for 20 yards in the play-offs.

He caught all 4 targets.

I'm not saying that Chism is the next big thing. But you claiming he looked awful is stupid when he clearly wasn't.

Here is Collier's info from the 2025 Edition of "The Beast"

40- 4.36
Shuttle - 4.18
3-con 7.10
Vertica 37.5"
Broad - 10'9

Yea im intrigued with Collier at the very least a possible kick returner. Jacob rizy fits what their trying to do on the line. Athletic movers. He's my pick for the 53

Would those passes have benefitted from better placement? In other words would having DDMM throwing to him obviate some of that criticism?

So, you think that placement of the football dictates whether a receiver goes to get the football or just let's it come to him?

No. I don't believe that Maye throwing him the football would alleviate me thinking that Dixon doesn't attack the football and that Dixon won't be breaking tackles and getting that sort of YAC with NFL corners and safeties making the tackles.

He has a lot of development needed no doubt, but he’s getting good coaching now. It’s an uphill battle for sure, but there’s no denying his talent.

No, I’m thinking that if the ball hits him in stride there’s not really a difference between the two.

But your response makes me think you’re inclined to be argumentative so, whatever. I’m not playing your ego game.

There was nothing argumentative about my response. The only one playing an EGO game is you. Which is why you attempted to shift focus from Dixon's actions to the QBs throws.

If you go back and look, most of the plays "hit Dixon in stride". My comments were referring to how he reacts to the ball when it's getting near him. Such as several of the End zone ones his hands are down low and close to his body when he finally catches the ball. He lets the ball come to him instead of getting his arms out to snatch the ball out of the air.
