If Moses retires, these may be one-year options.

Agreed

Rarely do you see OL subbing in and out. NE did in 2001 with the C who couldnt shotgun snap, but it worked.

I wonder if NE will have 2 FBs on the 53 - Westover and Gilliam since that position will be a key cog in the 2026 NEP offense.

instead of Westover, I'm hoping that Brock Lampe is 100% by July 31st at the latest.

Ponder is the #2 behind Landry as the starter at OLB, that’s a really good mix of old and young.

Is he even gonna be ready for TC? Week 1? I think he's washed; but we're stuck with him, or at least his contract, for this season. And then that'll be the end of him.

Worry about next season's contract status next season. We need Offensive Tackles this season.
Fair enough. I haven't really looked to much been more focused on edge.. who would you put in the don't suck OTs category?

To be fair there is a big difference between getting carried away and not totally giving up on him.

What I’ve seen posted on here seems to be either he’s dogfood that will never start because in his rookie year he took 19 snaps, or that he might be the replacement if/when Moses retires. I’d say the former is more getting carried away, with negativity, than the latter is with positivity.
Vrabel is personally visiting Pro Days to work out 1st round RTs in the draft. Like his visit to see ILineAnchor. Vrabel would not be doing that if Bryant was going to replace Moses next year.

Moses slid in the draft because he spent a few years at the smaller American Conference program before transferring to the SEC for his final college season. He was good enough to keep Armand Membou pinned to the right tackle spot while he played the left. He has decent athleticism, he needs refinement and to work on his agility. Some prospects need development, it doesn’t make them bad.

I think you mean Bryant? Moses was a military prep school and UVa product, back in the day when kids went to the same school for 4/5 years and actually got a college education.

wow. I forgot Moses is old enough to have played college ball when kids went to school for a few years and got an education!

Dr Stoned has spoken.

The guy was averaging a sack a game before his injury, was a rock against the run, but now he's washed... sounds legit.

Did you also give Stefon Diggs a physical last offseason and tell us he would not be ready?

Marcus Bryant was also a LT in College along side Armand Membou: so he's probably being groomed to back up T-Rex.

If he retires, I wonder if coaching is in his future. I think his signing was a nice surprise really with how he's played and how he's been a mentor to the younguns. A pro's pro if you will. Here's to hoping he runs it till the tires fall off but not so much its detrimental (which I don't think the coaching staff will let happen...).

Edit: We need to have a betting pool/forum..."Moses retires by game x". "Afraud retires after going on another dark room trip and an entity tells him to..." etc etc. I know it can be done on Kalshi though...

He plays a high-contact position where he'll be running into a lot of people bigger than he is. That's a lot of stress on a knee, especially if it's the same whose ACL he tore just before the start of the 2022 season... And I know that sacks aren't the be-all & end-all, but those numbers have declined, however slightly, since his 2023 return...

I admit I was one of those who wanted him to be PUPed for the first 6 weeks... Looks like I need to re-adjust my expectation of recovery time from those types of injuries, especially for WRs & CBs...

Good points.. I believe it's a realistic possibility both Moses and Landry could potentially retire.. Moses and Landry have been great veteran leaders.. but injury prone. For example Moses is what 35? & Landry will be 30 in July.. if he's on PUP in camp wich I highly anticipate sometimes as camp rolls around veteran see retirement it's happened to plenty of players as they age.. remember Reggie Wayne and tory Holt did the same thing when they were here!

Yes. He needs to have burst &have footing& leverage.. the lower body is where pass rushers need to excel at.. your get-off is everything as a edge rusher..

Moses on the other hand can be given help if he's struggling with The TE hill or Gilliam.. not ideal in either situation.. the best bet is to come out the draft with some quality starting level players and depth players.

Marcus Bryant was also a LT in College along side Armand Membou: so he's probably being groomed to back up T-Rex.

The main reason for that has more to do with Membou playing RT the previous season or two while Javon Foster was already the LT and thus the coaches didn't want to do any line-shuffling so they simply replaced Foster with Jellybean although he is obviously a natural RT.

In the draft? Caleb Lomu, though I would be shocked if he fell that far... Blake Miller, another with the experience & athletic/physical chops to provide Swing Tackle value, has a better chance to still be available at 31... No 2nd-round values here... Drew Shelton (though I have my doubts about his Right Tackle capabilities), Austin Barber (a LT with the stoutness to handle RT), and BC's Jude Bowry (same) might all still be available I hope at 95...

Cap I'll take anyone of of them that helps us! Shelton? The last Shelton we had was Danny Shelton Cleveland draft bust DT.. remember.. cap honestly I'll take any available talent OT that can actually play
