PATRIOTS NEWS Vrabel to speak with media today (4/21)

Breaking New England Patriots Team News
He really did study the BB handbook for this one. And I’m fine with it. I didn’t think he needed to even address it with the media.
Yeah, he did. The local hounds were all over him for not talking before the draft and they weren't going to let it go.

Hope after Thursday nite we are back on track for football stuff and move on from this...

Yeah, I just read his quote out loud to my wife and she said the same, albeit with swear words and more anger.

I don't understand how so many posters downplayed the impact this would have on the team. I don't want to walk around denver with my pats hat on cause this **** is shameful.
I'll be out in Denver in a couple of weeks for business but I'll be wearing Pats gear. And if someone says anything regarding Vrabel or Russini, all I'll I say is 'there's no accounting for taste.'

I had a buddy in Montana ask me Saturday about it. I said he was late to the party.

I'm disappointed in Vrabel. He basically said nothing. He didn't even admit he made a bad decision meeting up with Russini at a romantic resort. He at least should have done that after telling us originally that the photos were laughable.

It sounds like a lawyer wrote his statement. Not someone genuinely sorry for doing that or whatever happened that we don't know about. At minimum he should have apologized for putting himself alone with Russini at a romantic resort and the circus he created.

This wasn't a good look either.

He didn’t get arrested for a crime. The worst case scenario is infidelity to his wife. That is a matter between him his family and wife. He needed to address the team and ownership because it became a distraction. He did that.
All the rest are people that are engulfed in social media BS and the media both who crave drama. He owes them nothing.
So take off that raccoon suit and wear your Pats hat proudly

He said just enough that, when asked about it 10 times over the days of the draft, he can say every time "I've already discussed that, next question"

So I think his statement today was overall a positive from an avoiding additional distractions standpoint, even though it was not informative at all.

My brother text me the pictures. I said they were just enjoying some Arizona sun.

The problem is that he originally told the public that the photos show an innocent interaction. And that any speculation that it was more was "laughable."

Because he said this originally (it's laughable) to the public who said this romantic resort photos are a bad look, he owed the public an apology for that and for creating the circus for putting himself in this situation. What went on behind closed doors we don't know. But you can't tell the public the evidence is laughable and then not say your sorry for a bad situation you created for your family, the team and the organization

No apology, and from what he said originally, it comes off as dishonest when he said this was laughable.

He doesn't owe us anything. He needed to clear the air with his family and with the team, and beyond that, it's none of our business.
He does when he originally told the public this was "laughable"

So now does he disagree with that and it's a sensitive private issue now?

For Russini, this is a professional matter because of the conflict of interest it exposes her to. For Vrabel, this is a personal matter. He's in a public-facing position so unfortunately for him he had to address is publicly, but I don't think he owes anymore than this to the media/team/fans/players. He cheated on his wife. That's really where the damage is - with his family.
