Have we dismissed the idea that he might actually have some decent value here?

Very young player with experience. Guy is turning 24 in a few weeks. He is on an expiring contract after 2026, but comes super cheap financially this year. Has shown he has #2 WR potential.

There’s definitely some value in the guy if we do land Brown. He may be a great option for a team financially limited that doesn’t land a receiver in the draft.

I could feel better about giving up a 1 for Brown if we can land a 3 for Boutte.

I will take a 2nd for Boutte. Anything less he stays

Boutte could be a difficult dilemma for us. I thought so after we signed R Dobbs who's here for at least two years if things workout or not. Boutte was on a Tear last year before his head injury...if he's improves off his Fast start last year; he could be Big Time.

Maybe a fourth at the very best. I would keep him or let him go based on his value as determined by competition in camp with whatever group of WR's we have post-draft. The idea that his trade value is much above "whatever" is kinda silly. Other teams would see him as a JAG. He's quite a limited receiver, I think, good within a pretty narrow range.

How about 31 - Boutte and those 6th to get us to 21??

And do what?
Get the 21st Ranked Player Steve... isn't 21 > 31 in the Draft process. I remember when we Traded up for TE Daniel Graham many moons ago from the Thirties I think.

Hes worth a 4th.

Cowboys gave up a 4 for Mingo. Eagles gave a 5 for Wicks. He’s much better than both and very financially cheap for next year.

I'd bet a late pick, 5th or 6th. He's reached his ceiling, I think he is what he is. A 30-40 catch sub 1000 yard receiver.

Keep the guys together that your young QB has developed chemistry with. Boutte is neither aging or expensive. He's a still improving player that Maye has shown trust in. That is additional value.

I don't know. The board is organic. I guess it would depend on who's there.

I think the Edge available @ 21 gotta be better than the Edge @ 31.

Is it? I mean, I don't want to trade up to 21 to get a guy they could get at 31, or like Belichick, even in R2. I don't want to over think it. They were in the Super Bowl, get BPA. If there's a faller at 21 that 100% shouldn't be there, and won't at #31, then yep, go get him. But I don't want to go up to get OT Lomu, a faller, if Max I is going to be there at #31.

5th or 6th? So no better than a flier draft pick. ROFL.

He gets you a third.

If you trade Boutte you don't replace him instantly with a rookie - just look at his rookie year.

If you trade Boutte you trade him for another WR - which is why he and our 1st round pick are the asking price as the Eagles want to replace Brown with a younger more affordable WR.

I wouldn't trade a proven player for a 2nd round pick

All that being said, if they traded Boutte for a proven starter, that leaves Philly just getting Williams as the WR in return - so if they think there's more value in trading Boutte for a proven starter on draft day say, then we'll just let that play out

Pick swap: 5th and Boutte for 3rd.

That said, I’d keep him this year and see if he nets a 3rd or 4th comp pick next year if someone else pays him.

That obviously only makes sense if Pats don’t plan to spend on FA next offseason.

This is not the way to run a football team.

Running off the WRs you hit on to sign older WRs and trading away draft picks especially when your young guy is on his rookie contract.
