Much depends on the discussion with Vrabel-Moses on how much Moses wants to play this year, instead of retiring.

I'm kindof hoping that they had that conversation well before free agency began, let alone leading up to the draft

And assuming that conversation happened, if the response from Moses was "meh, I'm not sure if I've got it in me" then one would HOPE that Vrabel might have tried to address that by now at least with some veteran RT depth, rather than banking on the draft

So my guess is that Moses thinks he's up to it and Vrabel thinks he is too - but we all know we're playing with fire at age 35

Bottom line is, as you've pointed out, there's a big dropoff for T after the presumptive first rounders go - and even assuming Moses has another full season in him, if we want to draft the RT of the future in this particular draft, that may require moving up

I just don't like the price to be paid, but it is what it is

I'd still put one of the college "have experience at LT but project at RT" guys as my top draft priority so won't complain if they need to move up, but I'd prefer they just take the BPA rather than reach

Based on performance thus far it seems safe to assume Vrabel will be doing his job and talking to Moses.

The other thing is that Vrabes might see his conversations with Moses as making solving that problem this offseason less urgent, especially given the draft landscape. He might see the cost of trading up in next year’s draft as less expensive than doing it this year, and of course the concomitant implied choice that it would be a better use of our 2027 first round pick to get an OT than to trade for AJB.

There are 7 OT's that COULD be reasonable choices for us in the top 63. Vrabel will certainly have decided the value of each and they all may be on his board. My suspicion is that only 6 are on his 1st round board.

And, sure, Vrabel will add or subtract "value" based on the player's skill at LT, and at RT.

Agree completely. Vrabel and Co. had that discussion long ago, to think they didn't into assume they are incompetent, and they clearly aren't.

Yes. From the post it appears as Moses age had been brought up in comparison to Landry. My argument has been ok, yes Moses has dealt with things and is older.. however he's not coming off yet a second serious knee injury and doesn't play edge where you need every bit of your burst.

The addition of J. Hill will significantly help Moses in the blocking as he doesn't have to do it all himself ( not that he can't as he's still a dam good OT)

I'm going to maintain that unless Moses just decides during a 90 degree padded practice after getting beat by the 31 first pick repeatedly that maybe it's time to hang em up. Then he will be here and is healthy entering the season.

I need to see Landry on the practice field, taking on guys and having the burst he had prior to the saints game injury last season. It's a wait n see with Landry.

It's the offseason so all kinds of rumors are flying around. The past few days there has been speculation that AJ Brown could be traded. And guess what our Patriots could be his final destination.

There's no doubt a bona fide #1 might take this offense to the next level. Obviously OL is still the biggest need but we also didn't do much with our pass catchers when facing elite defenses. Diggs was very quiet in the playoffs. But so was Maye. Perhaps AJ Brown can be the difference maker.

How much would he cost. Our 1st round pick or would it be a 2nd plus extras?

Finally Brown might need a new contract if he comes over. The way it is structured now is very weird. He only counts for 1m in salary but his option bonuses are 17m, 21m, and 26m respectively going forward. What in the world does this mean cap-wise?
