2026 Draft: WR

X: Hurst, Chris Bell, or Caldwell. Brazzell and Lane worth considering if they slip.

Z: Skyler Bell, Williams, or Stribling. Maybe Bernard.

So you want 2 big WRs who are fast, run perfect routes, never drop the ball and get open every time?
Puka is smaller than Fields, and they ran a very similar time.
Would Puka be ok with you? He ran 4.57, would that disqualify him?
WRs come in all sizes. Some produce, some don't.
If you drafted every combine hero from the last several years you would have a team full of great athletes......that lose a lot of games.
A sample of one, or a couple of, rare slow guy(s) is not a convincing argument.

I could list more.
Just like I could list guys who are fast and amounted to nothing.
Just like I could small guys that are successful.
And speaking of a sample of one. So Fields wasn't fast today, so now I guess he destined to be a 6th round scrub.
I guess based on today Caldwell is destined for stardom.

If any team is going to be successful, they have to play the percentages. On average faster teams are more successful. Not is not a hard rule, just directional.

The reason *Puka Nacua* dropped was because he a mash unit in College *always injured*. Your comparison to M Fields is way off. I am sure Fields have no ailments at the moment; like I said I have no problems with Fields from the Fifth round on.

I might have found a really interesting day 3 developmental WR/RB/FB. No, it's not Eli Heidenreich.

He's 6-2, 212lbs so excellent size.
He ran 4.46
Jumps are OK but at the lower end - 33", 9-8"
He did run a 6.8 3 cone though.

he had 1,019 rush yards this year with 7 TDs
He is arguably the most physically competitive guy in CFB

Oh and he has nearly 10,000 career passing yards because he's
Haynes King!!

I was motivated to write this because I just saw his 6.8 3-cone. I might be at risk of Tim Tebow-ing him but I just want this guy on my team.

Could he be UDFA? Does he have an NFL arm in your opinion or near enough?

Serviceable. I was a little disappointed in his throwing at the combine yesterday, hence the switch from QB to offensive playmaker. I was writing a little bit in jest, however, he is absolutely the type of character you want on your team. How he fits is the question.

He's a WR I would give serious consideration to at 31. However there are a number of others I would rate over him if they are still on the board when they pick. Banks is obviously one, Parker, Mesidore, and Ineachor are some others. Some if not will depend upon who they think they can get in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, which I honestly don't know well enough to guage the likelihood of those positions/prospects well enough to say. Usually interior OL is still pretty strong on day 2, and WR should be as well.

I think whether we go WR at 31 depends on what happens with Diggs. Concepcion is definitely a possibility. I think a future Diggs replacement that can play Z and slot is more important than an X and Concepcion is certainly that.

However, there's too much talk about an edge in round 1 to be that confident about a WR there. I think they might be thinking about the 2nd, either in a trade, or as a draft pick reserved for a WR. I'm looking at Antonio Williams, Skyler Bell or Germie Bernard in that range.

I think you're probably right on that. WR and IOL should both be pretty strong on day 2, so unless someone they love is there when they pick I think defensive front 7 is the most likely area they will address. I think there's a good chance they will move on from Barmore, possibly to Philly in a AJ Brown trade, and they will replace him with their first round pick.
