2026 NFL Combine

The real Combine starts tomorrow.

Ideal OL goals:

1. 40 close to or under 5s, 10-split under 1.75s, VJ > 32", SS < 4.5s.

2. TEF > 3.00.

I think we all know that running in shorts when literally the only thing you have to think about is running 40 yards as fast as you possibly can doesn't necessarily reflect your actual football speed. Crazy that some NFL scouts, coaches and executives can become so enamored with 40 times to the point where guys can move 20-30 or more spots either way based on like three thousandths of a second.
 
Yup.
I've played several sports my whole life.
I played against lots of fast guys that were...fast and that's it.
I played against a lot of "not fast" guys that were much harder to defend.
I understand if we're talking about small school prospects who lack playing against top tier competition, but if a 4.5 guy can consistently get open and make plays in the power conferences, it's pretty ridiculous to write them off being able to it in the NFL.
Some guys run faster with the ball in their hands and others don't. Some can fast at the Combine but have trouble getting separation when it counts. That's why film is important now until the draft.
