I couldn’t vote. None of the options presented fit my view that trading for a WR1 is not something we should be doing. If we need to upgrade there, which I am not sure is true, we should look at FA. We need all our draft picks to build for the future.

There's no real way to do that with their current picks alone. Their two 4s together might get them a late 3.

I agree. 6th and 7th round picks don't move the trade needle, they are used as throw in when 2 side are finalizing deals, not the core of the deal.

They can get a good young receiver with a high upside on day 2 of the draft. This team is still building, they aren't at the point of putting finishing touches on the team. Fully build the OL and defensive front 7 first, then the perimeter.

None.

Bring on Wan’Dale Robinson to man the slot, and let our guys develop.

My question is when did these kind of trades, where teams give up #1 picks for a certain player ever actually work out in favour of the team that mortgaged its future?

Elite WR’s are great but the reality is that they don’t win you Championships. If they did then Detroit with Calvin Johnson and the Vikes with Jefferson should have multiple word titles by now.

They rarely actually even have great games in the playoffs (see Marvin Harrison).

1st round draft picks are the most valuable real estate in the NFL. I think too many people and organisations don’t value them as highly as they should.

Get your WR in the draft (or FA).

Diggs is a # 1 WR and he was the only NE WR to start all 17 games and received the most targets @ 102.

The Pats need a solid # 2 WR to pair with Diggs assuming that he is in the Pats plans for 2026. Diggs 2026 cost more than doubles his 2025 number. There could be fireworks if NE asks Diggs for a paycut.

Hollins had the next most starts @ 13 and the next most targets @ 65. The only NE WR to show up in the SB may be shipping out.

Not a thing. Draft and develop. Foolish fanboys want to snatch at shiny objects. Adults know better.

No matter how many times poster attempt to be misleading, Diggs contract is the flattest contract in years, with almost the same average money required each year a bit more than $21M.

That being said, Vrabel may prefer Brown and may be able to secure him.

We are in this state because we forgot how to draft . We reached super bowl thanks to good drafting in 2025 and some injury and schedule look and fantastic performance from under looked free agents.

Only eagles have had luck with free agents pushing them over the hump and that's because of their strong core of home developed players. Pats in the past and chiefs dynasty also share the same attributes. The 3 Superbowl in 2010 are thanks in great part to drafting of gronk. Edelman, white , mccourty , high tower and of course Brady . Do we have that core yet.. probably not. Till then, just wait it out and develop . Patience is key. Mortgage when the time is ripe.

Yes, we are in the terrible state of being one of the top 3 or 4 teams in the AFC, fighting for the division again, and for the Championship game with a bit of good luck.

The problem in the SB wasn't the WR room. ffs people.
"The plan was to get to Maye, disrupt him. We knew he was their whole team," Nwosu said. "We knew if we affected him, their whole game plan would be nothing.”

Seahawks spoke after the SB that they weren’t concerned with anyone on our offence other than Maye. Our schedule gets a lot harder next year, upgrades are needed on the o-line and at WR.

Yes, our schedule is much harder.

I would note that we need to be ahead of the Bills to win the division. both teams have almost the same schedule.
BUF plays BAL, LAR, HOU
NE plays PIT, SEA, JAX
the rest are the same

Basically, we need to be better than BUF.

Context matters, but in several cases, I'm talking about talent: Randy Moss was great before he got to Foxboro; I'd call GRONK the best TE of all time, and Wes Welker was at least the prototype of a slot receiver, if not the best ever. I admit I'm less certain of Edelman, Faulk, and White.
Moss and Brady were together 2 years.
How much of Welker was due to Brady and a system that literally ran off of his routes?

Diggs cap hits are no where close to equal compared to his 2025 number.

Please tell us the new money received by Diggs in the 3 years of his contract.

Do you mean like Washington giving up 3 picks for Lattimore and now might make him a cap casualty?

Two things are at play here. You are going to have to pay Maye soon. So if you are going to make luxury splurges, now is the time to do it. The issue is more about whether that splurge should be on the line or a WR.
