2026 Draft: WR

I'd be fine with using a 4th on Harbor.

Pats pick 15th, Bears 10th:

1(15) EDGE Keldric Faulk/Rueben Bain
*** Trade 2(48) and 4(115) for 2(39)
2(39) C Connor Lew / TE Kenyon Sadiq
3(79) CB Mansoor Delane
4(110) WR Nyck Harbor

If the draft were today, I'd be quite happy with that.

I wouldn't. He can't play football. He's the kind of guy you take in the 6th/7th. I realize his size and speed are unique but he really doesn't know how to play football, and that's usually a disaster in the NFL,

Umm, that post was from roughly 6 months ago.

One thing I've just noticed is, that of draftable receivers, Ted Hurst and Josh Cameron have the most contested catches in this class - both 16 of 27. with Maye's propensity to throw high, I think this is a useful stat.

It will be interesting to see what he runs at the combine.

Maye said once that Hollins, at 6'4", told Maye to throw higher balls.

WR Zachariah Branch from Georgia, I don’t see many people talking about him that much. But he is a great weapon. Wide receiver screens are almost a guaranteed first down, if not more. He’ll make you miss and take it to the house. Excellent return man as well. I really don’t care what he runs at the combine, he’s explosive on film. I hope the Pats get him. Plus it doesn’t hurt to get another receiver on the Pats named Branch.

I know he’s not big, 5’10” 180, but put him in the slot and let him cook for 10 years. Love the guy, I’ve been a big fan of his since his freshman year at USC.

His skills/size seem very similar to KW no? Do we need two of those guys?

I don’t think so. Definitely different types of players. KW doesn’t give you much besides the deep ball. ZB is an all around type receiver, that gives you great return ability because of his speed, AND shiftiness. He reminds me of a wide receiver version of Jahmyr Gibbs, his shiftiness breaks ankles, and then has the speed to take it to the house. Also has a few carries from the backfield.

To take advantage of his skills, you have to get the ball in his hands. He can beat you in different ways, short, long, in a return.

I think KW is a one trick pony. Deep speed.

Perhaps, or maybe its just how we used him this year.
Remember his TD against TB. Crosssing route probably about 12-15 yards downfield that he turned on the jets and took to the house.
I believe (maybe incorrectly), he was mostly used on gos this year as he is still developing, but he certainly has speed and twitch from what I saw.
I think he will surprise us next year, in a good way.

We spent some time on him a few months ago. I love his explosiveness but his average depth of target is one of the lowest in this class, only 3.6 yards per target. His 7.8 YAC is good though. 3.6 + 7.8 is, as you say, "a guaranteed first down".

I would suggest looking at Kendrick Law of Kentucky who has a very similar low adot, high Yac profile. He is thicker built at 6', 205 rather than 5'10", 180.

I think I'd rather take a gadget player on day 3 than day 2.

The biggest plus.
