According to the interweb….
Average age of commercial jets is 14.6 yrs old.

Kraft’s fleet….35 yrs old (1991)

Maybe Bob will bid on the Madden Cruiser to compliment his vintage fleet

Skewed figures.

What is average age of fleet outside of Part 121 carriers?

Part 121 is scheduled airlines. They tend to buy new. Few new commercial jets are delivered to buyers other than Part 121 carriers. Secondary market is usually their planes that have reached the end of their depreciation tax break. Has little to do with quality of the aircraft.

The Patriots aircraft are the 767-300ER (extended range) variant. The model first entered service in 1988 and the freighter variant remains in production through today.

Age of those aircraft is irrelevant.

Some leaks from this year’s results are out. Nothing Patriots related. Dolphins finished first, Steelers last this year, including finishing last in a new category, “worst home field” by a large margin. Cardinals moved all the way up to 31 from 32, and Browns remained at 30.

Vikings finished 2nd, Washington (?!) finished 3rd. What a difference new ownership makes!

This is one of the downfalls of owning your own plane. Most of the teams still do charters which allows them to get the most up to date charter planes for the team.

Kraft owns the team plane. So it gets dated. The cost to reoutfitting a jet is exorbitant. So it is unlikely that Kraft will put the money into reoutfitting the plan. I think only the Cardinals own their own plane.
Agreed. I get ****ting on the plane, but the truth is, the plane was a luxury when they first got it. Now it's outdated, but they are stuck with that plane.

It's like leasing vs owning your car. You get a lot of convenience and benefits out of owning it. But if you can afford it, only being stuck in a 3 year lease and sending it back for a newer model has it's perks too. You never get to see it get long in the tooth.

These complaints sound really whiney... do they want to retrofit existing ashtrays???
Have seen several video's about this plane and they all seem pretty nice to me.. heard players comment how nice it is to have familiar staff on board.
Could it be as simple as if you ask about something that people tend to focus on the negative, I know Kraft was not happy with previous years report cards and has spent quite a bit of $$$ on a new workout/training facility...
If you look for problems they will be found..
They aren't complaints, they are grades. They are comparing what the Pats offer to other teams that they know about.

I’d be astonished if they don’t have WiFi, it’s such an easy upgrade. I assume anyone saying “WiFi” really means “WiFi plus StarLink” or some other satcom equivalent to StarLink.

I mean, I have WiFi in my little four seat bugsmasher airplane, but no satellite just because it’s not worth it to me not because it’s a problem.
As someone who flies almost every week for work, you'd be surprised how hit or miss wifi is on most commercial planes. It's a godsend when it works, but boring as **** when it doesn't.

Mod edit: 2026 reports are now out; discussion continues in this thread:
