I feel like move number one needs to be finding a way to get Wilson out of playing that LG spot. He’s just not a guard, he’s a center. I’m fine with him playing the role in a spot, but he’s not the long term answer here. I’d rather just let him sit behind Bradbury next year and be the center in waiting.

I really think it would be smart to have a veteran presence next to Will Campbell next year. Snagging David Edwards from Buffalo would be an absolute home run. But seems like there’s plenty of capable staring experience in this list. Guards also usually hit the market, more often than not. So I’d bet on a good portion of these guys being out there.

A few of the older guys at the top of the still actually played very well last year. Maybe Vrabel has some connections with Teller/Bitonio?

That would be one approach. We need to secure competition (replacement?) for center, left guard, left tackle. Which one we get from where depends on objective evaluation (as opposed to the sort of immediate, handwringing reaction - not talking about yours - to which we are being subjected every minute) of all three present players and on an evaluation of what sort of options at each position are available via free agent/trade/draft respectively. To determine a particular course of action at this point re any of these needs is unnecessarily precipitous, premature. Again, the approach you offer is but one way of proceeding. Say, for example (and only as an example) you decide Campbell will not likely be a suitable LT, but that he is promising enough as a guard that you want to try him at that position next year. Your proposal would then be pretty much moot. It's just too early to foreclose other options at this point. In fact, it's probably too early to make ANY sort of decision. Maybe wait until the overreaction to a lost game in a successful season abates.

Here’s the problem there: who would we bring in at LT that would be a capable upgrade? That OT market is bone dry. Why overpay for a minimal upgrade? Not to mention, no left tackle getting picked 31st or later is likely to be able to make any immediate impact.

So the next best thing is making sure the guy playing next to Will is as capable of a player as possible. The staff has already backed Campbell publicly for next year at LT. Help him in every way imaginable to succeed.

Exactly. Want to help Will develop? Put a damn professional next to him. Wilson at LG ain't it.

LG is the #1 priority in FA.

Absolutely. This and any number of other considerations should be developed and correlated before any definitive view is adopted and acted upon.

They are definitely going to sign veteran OL.

I agree that the Pats need an upgrade at LG.

The Pats shouldn't sign anyone over 30.. They need a long term solution.
Tevin Jenkins, Connor McGovern (C/G) David Edwards,

Vera-Tucker has injury concerns. So does Christiensen.

Some of those guys are basically jags. Like Faalele, Salyer, and Zion Johnson.

Dylan Parham might be someone that Marrone can work with and improve BUT the Raiders website says he's at 332 lbs. So, there will be questions about how effective he'd be pulling and such unless he could lose 10- 20 lbs or so.

Yeah, guys at the bottom would be more completion than anything else.

Vera Tucker could be a high upside move.

Let's beat that ******** to death.
Just because YOU keep saying it, doesn't make it true.
It's actually embarrassing at this point. Bah

One thing I can say.. I don't want any freakin rookie to play LG next season and anybody named Jared wilson manning the spot. Anyone else is fine.

Ben Brown is fine too..

I saw this exact same post on Reddit at the exact same time. Are you the same poster or did you steal it? lol

All for it. Lg is good value too in fa, you can get a true force without breaking the bank like at edge or ot.

How about this...

Cut Onwenu to save $17.5M cap space. Sign Kevin Zeitler for RG. Last year he signed for 1 year $9M so I'd expect similar. Net savings of $8.5M.

Sign Joel Bitonio as another 1 year stop gap, veteran guard for the left side.

Release Bradbury to save $5.7M and sign Connor McGovern to play C.

Re-sign Munford as the swing tackle.

Starting OL next year is Campbell / Bitonio / McGovern / Zeitler / Moses. Backups are Brown, Wilson, Munford and then ideally a highly drafted OT that you plan to take over for Moses in 2027. Maybe Marcus Bryant is already that guy in waiting though as many here seem to believe (I personally think he's just a back end roster guy at this point and while maybe he develops into a starter there's no specific expectation on that).

McGovern has experience at both guard spots so the idea would be that Wilson eventually takes over centerand McGovern kicks out to whichever guard spot is playing worse. But this forces Wilson to step up his play because he didn't look strong enough this past year. Both of the guards would be one year deals so the opportunity is there for 2027 and could be sooner if his play/their play warrants a switch.
