Where do you think the Pats will make the biggest investment on the OL?

Joel Bitonio is 34, has never sniffed a playoff run with Cleveland, can still play left guard at a high level, and is a free agent.

Plug him in to help Campbell. Let Wilson and Bradbury and Brown fight for Center/IOL all purpose.

And get a two-way (blocking and catching) tight end.
Remember that along with the Titans, “Verbal” also may have developed relationships with Browns players from his year in Cleveland.

after watching all these videos and game film telling us what went wrong in the SB, one thing that struck me is How "small" Jared Wilson looks. Patriots list him at 6'3, 310 but he certainly doesn't look it. He doesn't look much bigger than Hannah, who was 6'2 and 265. Wilson has a small waist, small ass, and small things compared to other guards - compare him to Onwenu. They have Onwenu at 6,3, 350. He hasn't seen 350 in years. I'd be surprised if Wilson is much over 300. I think Wilson needs to put on some pounds. Have him hang out with Onwenu for the offseason; Wilson will come back 330+
Feels like he’s the frame of a center. Feel like we really pushed him out of position.

Not just him. There’s a nice market for aging veteran guards still playing at a high level:

Bitonio
Wyatt Teller
Kevin Zeitler
Isaac Seumalo

That’s not even mentioning a guy like David Edwards who’s in his prime.

At the combine Wilson was independently measured at 6'3" and 310 lbs.

Now that Vrabes came out so strongly in saying they aren’t moving Campbell (and interestingly specifically mentioned him getting in the weight room), in some ways it makes the draft easier. There are a LOT of quality LG options in this draft and quite a few swing tackle development options.

My gut says that a really good LG, moving Wilson to C , and drafting a physically dominant but rawish swing tackle prospect will help a lot. As will Campbell changing his body and getting a lot stronger.

Personally?

I’d also look to augment the defense to make it even nastier. Great defense can carry an awful lot of growing pains for a young offense.

Getting too many Cole Strange flashbacks when thinking about using a late 1st to reach on a guard.

Already drafted Campbell and Wilson last year. I’d just use an earlier pick on a potential RT this year.
Best player is best player, not best guard

Pats had a great offseason. The one non-move that I griped about was not going hard after Joe Thuney. High-intellect, great locker room, reliable...that one hurt.

How do you know 1) They even knew Thuney was being traded? 2) They didn't go hard after him? You act like the Chiefs put out a for sale sign and traded Thuney to the highest bidder. That did not happen at all. This was a quiet, insider trade.

Personally, I wanted them to trade down in 2025 and draft Membou and lock up RT, then have a one year band aid at LT.
As it stands now, I'd like to see Wilson at Center, Campbell at LG, Onwenu at RG, draft an OT in round 1, and get the best OT they can through FA. Preferably draft a RT and pay the money for a quality proven LT. They already have the depth players.

It really does not matter what you want to see. None of it happened or will happen. Campbell is not moving to LG and we are not drafting a LT in the top 100.

We clearly need to give Campbell another shot at LT after a full offseason to bulk up and improve his technique, etc. But that doesn't preclude us from having a backup plan just in case. If they weren't comfortable with playing Lowe even with Campbell struggling mightily then clearly we need something better at backup.

With Wilson I just don't get it. At least Campbell showed for most of the regular season he was a competent maybe even above average starter before melting down in the postseason. Wilson never showed me anything. Thought Ben Brown was a clear upgrade. My only hesitancy is that I'm not breaking down the tape play by play weekly (I do look at the all-22 for half the games but not with a very discerning eye on the line) and I'm certainly no OL evaluation expert. But I just don't get what they see in Wilson that says he EARNED his starting spot.

The main draw with Wilson is his athleticism, which goes a lot further at Center than it does at LG.

Don’t think about Strange when thinking late 1st rd, think Mankins!

Anyone who is claiming Campbell should be cut or traded should just be banned from the forum. This is so ridiculous.
Did someone actually say either of those things?

Saw that mentioned in the GDT.

People need to find another avenue to vent their frustrations, as opposed to posting knee-jerk stupidity which is not really intended to be taken seriously.

If you recognize yourself as what I described, please find another way to vent, and save your posts for serious commentary.

Next season the line will probably be…

LT - Campbell, Munford
LG - Brown, Wilson
C - Linderbaum, Bradbury
RG - Onwenu, Wallace
RT - Moses, Munford

According to the OP, yes.

"First off, let me take one thing off the table: the Patriots are not going to trade or cut Campbell. Cutting him means taking a $26M dead money hit, and even trading him would be $11M. Given they have $42M in cap space right now, that's not happening unless Campbell robs a bank or something."
