Love JT’s videos, this is gonna be super valuable insight. Thank you for sharing

I managed to watch the game again( all 22s). By god, Maye's head was not in this game. He was dialed into somewhere else. Only thing I can think of is that he is badly hurt and that got into his head and wanted to just get out of there. He could have moved the chains by looking for easy throws. They were there. Very sad that his skills position players will take a beating for his poor poor decision making or lack of vision or whatever was wrong with him.

I saw a few clips that showed Diggs got open quite often which surprised me and was not something I saw live. It is making me reconsider dumping him like I said earlier today lol. Especially if they can get AJ Brown or another true #1, Diggs would be a killer second option. But it won’t matter if the protection doesn’t hold and Maye doesn’t actually keep it together.

Yeah, I agree, he seemed a bit lost, compared to how he has been. It'll be years before we find out why (unless we get some shoulder injury news soon).

I recall myself at 23 as best I can, and I had no clue about how to be successful in the world. I can't imagine stepping on the field as a SB QB then. This guy is amazing afaic. I'm more than happy to sit back and see what emerges in the coming few years.

There's no healthy reason to find anything negative in any of this.

The difference from regular season to playoffs has been jarring. Sure we ran into a string of great defenses but that doesn’t entirely explain why he seemingly fell off a cliff. I do think there was an injury at play the last two weeks. In particular last night he looked like a guy with 0 confidence from the very start.

Next year will determines his future. If he holds onto the ball to long, if he fumbles all the time etc. I have faith he will train in the offseason to rectify that. How you train that I don't know.

My guess is that the team including Drake will probably be less successful next year due to a harder schedule and may take a couple years to start getting playoff wins again, but once they’re back in position, having that prior playoff run experience will be a huge benefit. So few players actually get to play in the big game, so having already done it and know what to expect is a big advantage. Sucks to lose but it’ll be a good experience for him to have and reflect on for the next 15 years of his career.

JT O'Sullivan always puts out good videos. I'm afraid to watch.

Honestly, longterm it might be good for Maye's flaws to be aired out now while he's still young so Josh and the QB coaches can work on them. Too many times this season, they were overlooked because "we need to let him play his game".

The best thing Brady and Mahomes ever did was not get a big ego with early success and really hone in on their weaknesses and develop them so that they became more complete QB's.

There's a reason gunslingers usually don't have dynasties. Either Maye will take it to heart and work his ass off or he will always have these issues.

The harder schedule thing is not a big deal. What is a big deal is that they had a lot of breaks in games, so some of those should turn into losses.

From 2001-2006 Brady fumbled 59 times and threw 78 picks. That is a ****load....and won 3 Super Bowls.

Sam Darnold was a turnover machine this year and won a Super Bowl.

Drake needs to improve but sometimes it takes a few years to master ball security.

Where he needs to improve is in his short, quick passes and gaining more confidence in acting on what he is seeing faster.

Thankfully Maye did not win MVP . The noise and ridicule would have been deafening . I think he needs to go back to the drawing board and has similar issues like Stroud , Herbert. I donno what his injury was , but he looked a shell for himself in post season . Played like the ghost of sam darnold .

Better to really prop up defense more.

Next year the regression from Maye might be huge . Defenses would know how to defend him. Maybe they blitz the hell out of Maye and keep two deep safeties and challenge him vertically. Maye needs to learn to take check downs and throw away balls or take sacks. Brady never had negative plays . His brain worked so fast. No wonder he is the GOAT.

I’ve watched about 20 minutes so far (I realize that’s only a quarter of the video but still) and the overall feeling has been that Drake was fine, it was Will Campbell and Josh McDaniels’ fault. We’ll see if that holds up.

Maye during the regular season was one of the best QBs vs the blitz.

And, per Michael Hurley, Jared Wilson.

Best thing for Maye is to hit the film room hard. If you know the answers to the test it makes playing qb a hell of a lot easier.

we knew Maye needed alot of work when he was drafted and this is only year 2. He had the least experience of all the qbs in his class except McCarthy. Seems he was not ready for the stage and taking what defenses give you is a part of his game he’ll need to work on. Josh Allen had the same gunslinger mentality, had to learn to dink and dunk and this elevated his game to where he is now.

Like i said in another thread, Maye did take a giant leap this year but it was exaggerated by the easy schedule. Most of The tough defenses he did face were still pretty piss poor teams overall so there wasn’t the same pressure to do great and he was normally playing from ahead in these games by the 2nd half. He isn’t the top 3 qb he looked like in the regular season but overall hes still top 10 id say which is still incredible progress from year 1. Now he needs to learn from this and improve in the same areas. If we continue to upgrade the OL that should help a ton. But we’ll also find out how hard he is willing to study and evolve.
