I was thinking about this very Topic but not happy with asking price. A First and a Second??Hell no! it's either one or the other.

The guy was still in the top 10 in both pass rush win rate and run stuff win rate. He is still elite or near elite. He may or may not be at his ultimate elite form, but he is still a top DE in the league. And putting him next to Barmore and Williams and possibly Chaisson on the other side would give the Pats a top d-line in the league.

The question is what it will take to get him. But if it is reasonable, you make the trade. He would easily be the top free agent this year if he was free. All things being equal (no trade compensation, same contract), I would much rather have him then Trey Hendrickson.

Actually, the fact Hendrickson missed the entire year makes me weary of signing him.
I think Trey Hendrickson is the better and more cost efficient signing. We get him and Draft a guy to groom under him. Getting Maxx Crosby would cost us the Top of our Draft: No thanks!

Tough call, I would give a 1st for him, but no more, and that's only because of where they are picking, and the progress they made this year.
I would even offer a Second this year and next: but not a First and a Second.

She said it on Zolak and Bertrand. Elliot Wolf said the Pats tried to trade for Crosby before the trade deadline, but the Raiders wouldn't move off of 3 first rounders. Could Crosby be a Patriot next year?

I believe so... the raiders and Patriots have a great relationship and they have done trades before.. randy, Seymour to name a few big names...

Should this ever come to fruition the defense becomes even more dangerous..

The offseason is essential right after the superbowl.. no matter how it transpire Sunday this is absolutely a move that should be made.. Crosby is elite.

Nope. I do not believe in trading tops picks for players. Picks are simply too valuable. The only time I would trade picks for a player is for a QB... or a player that impacts the game to such a level even with a massive contract they are underpaid.

Someone like an Aaron Donald or Healthy Gronk that just changes the game so completely, that even though you have to pay them a top of the market contract it doesn't matter. Where you get in trouble is trading for elite players who give you good production, but the cost of that production is fair. Now you are down a pick for that production which you are paying for anyway.

Trading for players like that shows an utter failure to either draft well or do FA well.

Brady will never ok a trade to NE. He's clearly has an axe to grind. Jk.

He's still fairly young at 28. Only if the trade is reasonable and Landry retires.

I’d probably give this year’s 1st. That’s it.

Not sure what the salary cap looks like in future years, but we are going to be spending some big money on Drake & Gonzo. Adding Crosby would be another big salary against the cap. The first dynasty was built when veteran players would take team friendly contracts in hopes of winning a super bowl. Also didn't hurt that we had the GOAT qb.

He’s a great player. He’s tight with Spillane and I’m sure is fed up with the Raiders.

That said it’s hard to imagine a trade and salary that would make this make sense unless he just wants a ring and a change of scenery enough that he’s willing to give up money

Would be an awesome pickup but I would rather put those resources towards upgrading the offense.

We have a very popular HC now so maybe he can add some key players. He did this year.

Just a first rounder and no more, good player, but is he great any more, I don't think so.

So if we wouldve had 6 extra 1st rounders to part with, we couldve added Myles and Maxx to our defense? That wouldve been something

Three first rounders? Are ****ing kidding me? Unreal.
That's crazy talk. He will be 29 in Sept and will come with a hefty salary tag.

I would trade #32 at best.

He'd have to hold out. And here we wanted myles Garret. He's gonna get big money, not sure I would give him that contract

Trade 2 1s and and a second for Myles garrett . 2026 and 2027 1 and 2028 2nd.

1st round pick and a later pick or two all day. 28 in his prime. Get 4 years and the known over possibly 4 years and production. Sign me up.
