Going to "Buffalo Joe's" in Dallas, TX. Gonna be with 50+ other Pats fans who are part the New England Patriots Fans of Dallas group.

No, you Cmon!
I was listening to a little of the NFC Championship Game and I thought he was a lot more solid than when he started. I think when he's talking about the details of the games and the nuances of playing, he's really good. I'm not a big fan when he starts telling stories and anecdotes.

We're hosting a watch party, never got the chance to before. I'm gonna smoke a brisket, some smoke/fried buffalo wings, cheddar and jalapeno sausage, and smoked queso. I am going in with high hopes and low expectations. This season has been a blessing and a joy to follow already. It would suck to lose the Super Bowl but I'm happy and satisfied as is.

That being said, if we're down 21-3 like we were to the Falcons I'm probably going into the basement to sulk on my own lol

I remember watching SB 51 at the Cask n Flagon in Fenway. When we went down 21-3 you would've thought someone killed my dog. I was dejected, and made even more pissed by the fact that everyone else in the bar was laughing and having a good time. Didn't understand how anyone could be happy in a time like that. I remember taking the T home and watching the rest of the game alone in my apartment while we mounted the greatest comeback of all time.

Since then I've committed to just enjoying the ride, enjoying the moment, and not letting anything I can't control ruin the moment
Nice, I smoked a pork butt 2 weekends ago and it came out great. Think I'll do a brisket too for the sb.

Nice perspective cause it's easy to forget the pats were expected to be horrible this year. I've watched most of the games at home since I live in denver.

Watching with my mom, who got me into being a Patriots fan in the first place. Maybe ordering a specially made Big Cookie with the Patriots logo on it or just make it look like a big football

This is a game I’d rather watch alone with family or with a small group of people I trust. My friend usually has a Super Bowl party and it’s not enjoyable when a bunch of people are yapping during the game they don’t even care about. I’m on the fence on what I’m going to do.

I can't bear to watch a Patriots game at a big party with people yapping and not caring about the outcome. If the Patriots aren't in it, I might go to a party. But if they are, it's home on the big screen, with at most my wife and dog there. I yelled so loud at the Malcolm Butler interception that the dog went running.

I'm hoping that Brady isn't color for the game if I have to watch it on TV.

Bad Bunny is painful enough.
It’s on NBC, so we will get everyone’s favorite color commentator Chris Collinsworth (sarcasm).

I absolutely dread the halftime show.

Stack of marrow bones for the dogs, bluey on the tablets for the 3 and 6 yr old, and probably my first alcoholic beverage in 5 months. Or maybe I'll try an edible. Something to calm the nerves.

Where are you staying? Lots of good spots in and around the Parks... happy to point out a few depending on your location for the day...
Will be at Boardwalk. Flexible if there’s anywhere would need to be that day ahead of kickoff. I saw something about House of Blues having it at their courtyard—I assume that’s separate from dining seating? Open to anything really

What I won't do is what a game with my Sister-In-law, again. We were at a friend's house for SB 51 and, my god, she was insufferable. I had to sit and bite my tongue the whole time. She just kept piling on. But I kept my cool and didn't gloat when the Pats turned it around.

Yes.

I think it's true for all of us who post here that we care a lot about the sport and the outcome. If other people don't and think that we are weird and are getting things out of proportion -- fair enough. That's probably true. But it's no excuse to pile on. Just leave us to suffer on our own.

EDIT: Actually, though, I think that most of us see this season as an unexpected present. Like 2008, the team has exceeded our expectations. I'm not saying that I won't be hard to be with if the wheels finally fall off in ten days time, but I'm sure I'll look back on this season with affection and gratitude.

Brisket is the "king of BBQ" but I gotta say nothing beats the simplicity of a pork butt. I have yet to mess up a pork butt, but I've screwed up brisket a time or two. Plus it's like $25 at the butcher whereas brisket ends up being $90-120 for a full packer.

My trick is that I am gonna smoke the brisket Saturday morning into Saturday evening, rest it a few hours, refrigerate, then Sunday morning it goes in the oven on warm until it's 145 internal again. It's not as good as fresh off the smoker brisket but it's close enough that it's worth doing when you're on a schedule and need food ready by X:XX PM

In 2006 I thought I remember there being a big Pats fan club or Pats fan contingency in San Diego when we were going there in the playoffs. I wonder if that followed the Chargers to LA

I see this like 2001. Totally unexpected. The only difference is that I didn't go to the Carolina game like I did during the 2001 season.

Watching a Pats Super Bowl with anyone who isn't a Pats fan (or at least Pats neutral) is a no go for me.
