Patriots Injury News Drake Maye Listed on Super Bowl Bye Week Injury Report

In two weeks after the Pats stun the Seahawks in an upset win with Drake passing for 350+ yards:

“Patriots being INVESTIGATED for FRAUDULENT injury reporting!!! FAKE shoulder injury??? Fans call for ASTERISK on latest trophy! #ShoulderGate”

For years we laughed at Brady being on the injury report with a "shoulder", but it turned out it was a real thing and Brady was seriously considering retiring after the 2004 Super Bowl win.

This also reminds me of the outrage after the "Brady's in a boot" report after the 2007 AFCCG. We didn't want to believe it until we noticed how much of a stature he was during SB42.

Plus he was spotted with Gis in NYC wearing it. Turned out it was real.

I heard Mike Giardi talking about it today, and he said that Drake injured his shoulder before the Denver game.

May be why Drake has been performing less than his normal level during the playoffs, particularly some off target throws early on the Denver game.

Let’s hope the two weeks allows him to heal up and he opens a can on Seattle. We know he has it in him.

Bedard did an analysis and came back with this summary: Second and third viewing of Maye's film backed up what I originally thought: there's nothing on film to indicate Maye has an injury that is affecting his play.

Full detail on his blog on BSJ.

Bedard doesn’t know ****. Guesswork and speculation.

In other news, the Las Vegas Raiders bought out Tom Brady's ownership share so he can be signed to a two week contract by the New England Patriots. This is due to the fact that starting QB Drake Maye was listed on the pretend injury report because arm is teh amputae.

Bedard's become a media talking head - but he always broke down film after games. It's literally the one thing that keeps him somewhat relevant.

Two things.
Maye's taken so many hits in the last three games that it's almost impossible to believe that he isn't hurting in some way. He has very rarely taken "Josh Allen" hits where he doesn't slide downfield...he's been hit mainly because his protection fell apart or the pocket collapsed.
Brady was on the injury report nearly every week for his final seasons.

I heard this guy got quietly signed to the practice squad yesterday.

In Maye's WEEI interview he alluded to the 30 weeks of throwing and arm fatigue.

Says after 30 weeks of throwing it can add up. and "I'll be good after I get some rest."

Team doctors say it is nothing more than a chip on his shoulder after all the bullshlitz about the schedule.
