Played 9 games per in a dome...I dunno man. Brees never struck me as a HoFer. Then again I have a pretty high bar.
Apparently so. Guys got a ring, a 13x pro bowler (when it means something), the nfl record holder in passing yards and most consecutive games with a td.

Look at how bad the saints were before he got there and since he left.

Again extremely good player but not in my HoF. Not first ballot at least.

BB was a better HC than Craig was a RB.
He was. Craig also has been waiting since 1998 when he was eligible. Belichick until a recent rule change wouldn't have been eligible for 3 more years. There is validity to the idea that Craig and guys like him now have to contend with a bigger backlog immediately because a bunch of people in their vet category are going to get eligible faster and this might be one of the last times he realistically has any shot for a long time while Bill is basically almost guaranteed a spot very quickly.

I can see why someone said "the rules just changed and Bill only waited a year, Craig has been suffering for 27 years and he might get boxed out soon and guys who never watched him are going to start making up the voting committee".

Brees is an easy HOF'er. SB, SB MVP, 2x OPOY, 5x All Pro, 13x Pro Bowler, 7x passing yards leader, 4x passing TD leader, 2x passer rating leader, 6x completion percentage leader, has the most 5000 yard seasons, has the record for consecutive games with a TD, has the NFL record for most passing yards per game in a season, has the record for highest completion percentage in a season. He's not Brady or Manning, but he's a pretty easy call to make.

Again I put him, no fault of his own, a peg down (kinda like Peyton) because it's sure as hell easier to throw for 50K yards playing 9 per in a dome. Thats a huge discriminator. It's actually pretty massive.

FWIW noted Pats haters ESPN had a 10 minute segment on how ridiculous this is and, if the current process allows for this result, then the process is broken and/or the voters need to be held accountable.
How should they be held accountable? Kicked off the voting committee? If so, sign me up.

I don't care for the man, but that would not tarnish my voting for him. Some of these assholes need to take a look in the mirror.

How do you know what "bridges" Belichick burned? You don't. None of us do. What we DO know is that the Belichick we saw with the media was not the Belichick with players or off the field.

I'm not saying he was a saint. Clearly, he's not. But his personal life has nothing to do with what he did on the field.
Don't hold your breath waiting for an answer from her. She is one of the "fans" that I referenced in my post earlier. Some of these fans are thrilled at the snub, narrow minded idol followers, not fans of the Team.

Because he was a **** to a lot of people in the media

I'm pretty sure that the list of mediots that were ****s to Belichick is far greater than the reciprocal. You seem to be forgetting that Belichick had decades of dealing with them prior to his being a HC for the Browns.

Yeah, not wrong. There’s been a certain sweetness watching the entire sports world rally around how great Bill is and simultaneously how ****ty the HOF voting body is, chiefly Bill Polian. Many people don’t even know who he is, then they look him up, and they still don’t know who he is.

What a load of crap

How can it not be unanimous? Do the writers and the other assholes not understand football? The hall should be named after him for ****s sake.

I wonder what this will lead to. Clearly they will be replacing people next year, but who? What bylaws were violated? What even are the bylaws? Is this just cover to re-do the very obviously bogus and dated class? I mean, there’s zero reason people like Polian and Borges should have votes.

It's missing the whole point of the issue. Instead of this, there should have been a unanimous induction of BB into the HoF by executive decision. Thats decision is made by the current HoFers. Do you want BB to wear the gold jacket? If 80 percent of the respondents affirm that question...BB goes in.

Couldn’t believe it when this popped up on insta earlier, disgusting bias at play.

GOAT coach, should’ve been a unanimous vote.

Then don’t declare BB eligible until he is. Then not getting in on the first ballot is not an issue.
