Mack Hollins.....He was ready to go

So can someone explain the Warriors reference?

I'd hope that the PATRIOTS are the Warriors and this is a battle cry for them to "come out and play" hard against their opponent.

Also what's the hand gesture going on with the TDs in the Chargers game and throughout the season?

Kindof looks like they are polishing their balls?

That being said, that scene from the Warriors was always chilling - but the Warriors prevailed in the end so hopefully Mack actually watched the movie!

It's from the movie The Warriors, where the antagonist keeps screeching " warriors, come out and play......"

Yes - as mentioned I know that

So since the Warriors are the good guys in the movie, the point is that the Patriots are the bad guys who lose in the end?

I mean, it kindof seems like people, if they know its a movie, don't know much about the movie.

They are Road Warriors. 9-0 (soon to be 10-0) on the road (even though they're technically the home team).

It's...not much deeper than that.

Hilarious coincidence, but I'm flipping around on PlutoTV and what movie is on as we speak!

Great movie

Spoiler alert. The Warriors win in the end. Things don't work out so well for the guy with the beer bottles on his finger - which is why I'm perplexed.

Hopefully that's it - because you don't want to be the guy that Mack Hollins was playing if you want to win.

I think Mack is calling the Warriors (the rest of the Pats) out to play. But yeah, weird choice to play the villain.

It’s just fun to say

They *are* the villains. The Bullies.
Yeah, could be that. If only there was an entire day where press from all over the world could ask him meaningless questions like this.

Two dark bottles, one clear - I respect Mack's attention to detail.

My take on what Hollins was doing
He is walking into our locker room chanting the phrase. He is calling his teammates “Warriors” and for them to come out to play

Whenever i hear that tune and the bottles i think of the chappelle skit about p diddy.

One of the best movie outros of all time.

And technically, the Warriors WERE vilified as the bad guys throughout the movie.

And then the Riffs caught up with them, figured out they were the good guys - and tipped their hat to the Warriors for their strength and courage.

"You're good" said Cyrus.

"The best" said Swan

Rumor has it Mack is going to hire Joe Walsh to serenade the Pats when they win the Super Bowl.

I watched it many times
“Can you dig it”

Vrabel talked about The Warriors reference more. Apparently, he had showed them the movie earlier in the season.

The references to “The Warriors”

The Patriots, led by Vrabel, have made several references to the 1979 cult classic “The Warriors” in recent weeks. Asked if anyone understood the reference prior to the season, Vrabel laughed.

“There wasn’t a single [one]. I had to show them the video,” he said. “I had to actually show the movie.”

The Patriots’ coach clarified that this happened “a while ago,” but that the team’s interest in it has persisted.

“I’m like let’s see how this goes, and then next thing you know they’re walking around the building we’ve got guys with like the soy sauce bottles [clicking them together],” Vrabel said (in another reference to the movie). “Then Mack [Hollins] goes and buys the little beer bottles and empties them out.”

This movie is an absolute cult classic and one of my all time favorites. Scene at the end is just on point. Just like Blade Runner is another cult classic and the scene on the roof top in the rain between Rutger Hauer and Harrison Ford is just straight fire.

Thanks. That pulls it all together. [ that Vrabel showed them movie, they saw themselves in the Warriors, and although it is a reverse -act for Mack to be the guy calling them out….it makes sense for them. LOL. ]

I love that bit from the movie (funniest scene character in whole movie).
Amazing how the team had this theme apparently going on for months…..we are the warriors going against the whole world….and not one single mention of it to any Mediots. That tells you one more bit about how tight-knit they are. A true TEAM.

25 years later …. THE PATRIOTS CHOOSE TO BE INTRODUCED AS A TEAM!

WILL THEY do it AGAIN? I would find it appropriate and a great homage on the team that started it all.

And yes, that is the voice of the Chief from "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego" as the DJ for anyone wondering why she sounds so familiar

Easy to predict Mack Hollins will be one of the "Kings of all Media" next week.
