I imagine this was talked about a bunch in the game thread, but the refs are lucky the Patriots scored their TD after the Stidham backwards pass. Them blowing the play dead almost screwed us, which is why I hate it when refs do that and wish they'd let the play play out before blowing the whistle.

I'd be scared if they actually picked us to win.

Let’s be honest. Seahawks are 4.5 favourites cause everyone sees our offence as weak. What is this team gonna do about that.

#Warriors
Didnt we finish 2nd in the league in PPG in the RS?

I think the "we blew the play dead" claim was BS. I never head a whistle and the one official on the sideline looked confused as to what had happened and ran with the Pats defense to the End Zone, signaling a TD.

I heard the whistle, but there were no defenders close. He would have scored.

Yes. And the Seahawks finished 3rd, right behind the Pats.

Pats- 28.8 PPG
Seahawks - 28.4 PPG

Defense:
Pats - 320 Points allowed - 18.8 PPG
Seahawks - 292 Points allowed - 17.2 PPG

Playoffs -
Pats Offense - 54 points - 18 PPG (The 2nd, 3rd, and 9th top defenses)
Seahawks Offense - 72 points - 36 PPG ( 10th and 13th top defenses)

Pats Defense - 26 points allowed - 8.67 PPG (13th, 14th, 20th offenses)
Seahawks Defense - 33 points allowed - 16.5 PPG (10th and 1st offenses)

The Pats offense played against tougher defenses, than the Seahawks. The Seahawks defense played against better offenses.

I think Campbell is still recovering from his injury and will be helped with a couple of weeks off.
Even Orlovsky (One of the few knowledgeable ESPN talents) was commenting on his poor play. Maybe two weeks off does help. Or, maybe he is not someone who should be taking on the best DL's and will eventually get kicked to guard.

McDaniels needs to stop coaching as if Tom Brady is still his QB. Maye is in year two and does not have that sixth sense Brady did. He should help Campbell out a bit more.

The game was nervewracking, but it was fascinating in a weird sort of way.

I thought it would take a really good game from Drake to give us a chance. Nope. The D once again was good enough to seal the win, along with really excellent overall game management from Vrabel. I guess that must have been the plan, given they showed no inclination whatever to get aggressive on offense. A combination of the weather and Denver's great defense led to that, I assume, but it was sure weird to watch them go as wildy conservative as they did on offense. I'm not complaining at all, but it made for a strange watch.

Looking ahead to the SB, though strong defenses account in large part for Drake's declining performance, I think weather has had a great deal to do with it as well. In the Super Bowl, the D will have to be good yet again, which will be a challenge if Darnold's excellent play yesterday wasn't the outlier we hope it was - but weather shouldn't be an issue at all. I expect Drake to really show out in the SB. He had better, because i think it will take a good effort on both sides of the ball to win that game. I think it's fair that we are the underdog, but I think we have a solid shot at winning the game, if Drake can restore his play to its regular-season consistency. It's entirely reasonable to think he might, now that the arctic phase of the season is behind us.

How do you think the Panthers feel? They thought they had a FA deal with him.
While our front office did very well this offseason, there was luck involved too. This is one example. The other example would be if they landed their first choice WR Chris Godwin instead of Stefon Diggs.

An NFL ref who lives in my hometown says they are instructed to not blow the whistle in those plays but let it play out. In other words, not call what they see, but account for what could be - with the idea that replay can fix errors. A hard way to ref
