Thomas Brown is not getting OC job with ravens or bills or commanders or Bucs. So he will stay put. I am sure money might not be a big factor. If we win Kraft will pay more and keep the band . The excess stadium revenue will be able to find all that and more
It was Kuhr I was mainly thinking about when I started the thread.
Honestly if someone's going to end up leaving, it might be Springer. I could see the Cardinals or someone like that going after him.It was Kuhr I was mainly thinking about when I started the thread.
I suspect the team is past that threshold. If we win Kraft will pay more and keep the band.
What do you mean by that?I suspect the team is past that threshold.
I mean that the front office is probably already convinced that this group of coaches is worth paying top dollar for in order to keep them around. What do you mean by that?
I think a lot may change depending on how the team does in the next game or two.
If we lose this coming weekend, or the game after that, there may be a sense of unfinished business and more of a desire to stick around and finish the job.
OTOH if we win both of the next two games I’d expect there will be more of a desire to cash out while on top, plus the luster of this season will do a lot to enhance market value.
The chatter seems to be that these are all guys who have been with Vrabel in some way shape or form for a long time, and that leaving him one year into his/their tenure isn't that likely. So much happening with coaches moving teams. Are ours safe and sound?
Marrone's older, he may just wanna chill here and win until he retires - who knows? What about Marrone?
Chargers reportedly have landed their next OC but only if he doesn’t get a HC offer. So Brownnwould be their contingency plan, at most. The chatter seems to be that these are all guys who have been with Vrabel in some way shape or form for a long time, and that leaving him one year into his/their tenure isn't that likely.
I think other head coaches in transition already know this as with the exception of Thomas Brown I haven't seen other Patriot coaches mentioned
Kindof tough to turn down an OC position if offered and I tend to doubt that Vrabel would fault him for taking it. I don't see him making the jump to HC without that - and would worry he's a Rooney Rule interview for the Cards for the HC position, but I'd think the Chargers interest is legit.
I’m sure the FAo is happy enough with the results to date to want to keep them together. Question is more whether any of them decides their ambition to climb the corporate ladder right now is greater than their ambition to stay and build another dynasty here.I mean that the front office is probably already convinced that this group of coaches is worth paying top dollar for in order to keep them around.
And if you look at the list of HC interviews for the Cards Brown is the only non-coordinator (or former head coach) to interview with them.Chargers reportedly have landed their next OC but only if he doesn’t get a HC offer. So Brown would be their contingency plan, at most.
