Narrative is hilarious :

“No Mahomes, no L Jackson, no Burrow…”

Guys, what makes ANYONE think Lamar or Burrow are actually obstacles ? Burrow was in the SB once, lost, and has been an afterthought since. LJ has never sniffed the big game. Literally Maye has the same qualifications as those two chokers….

Bills are currently 11-17M over the projected 2026/2027 Cap. While OTC says 49 signed, the reality is that 6 of those 49 are Void years.. McGovern, Bosa, Milano, DaQuan Jones, Larry Ogunjobi, AJ Epensa.

Wouldn't be surprised if they cut Dawson Knox and Curtis Samuel outright. Hopefully, the situation means that they won't be able to re-sign McGovern and/or David Edwards., forcing them to revamp their O-line as well.
@Mike the Brit - What don't you agree with??

If I’m the Raiders, I get McDermott & Daboll for OC

I think the big difference is that Baltimore has a good GM and good ownership. The talent cupboard won’t run bare there the way it has in Buffalo.
that is a good point i did not consider... but then again, i was sitting in the bowels of the block island ferry, rocking back and forth the whole time, so don't hold it against me lol

I think it kinda stupid on Buffalo's part. It would be Different if there was a coach with an irresistible pedigree (like when Kraft snatched Parcels) but he's scapegoating a winning coach when the coaching pool out there is shallow. Look at Cowhers run in Pittsburgh. He started in 92 and didn't finally win the big one till 2005. Philly did the same with Reed, sure it worked out for them, but the problem with Philly wasn't reed it was mcnab. . It sucks to make the playoffs every year and loose, but not everyone can be the 21st century Pats. Sometimes the ball doesn't bounce your way and when it doesn't you don't just start firing people for the sake of appeasing the mob.

That’s all I know is we have the best coach in the NFL
A good roster building, strategist, game manager and most important and hardest part in this modern NFL
A motivator to the new generation player
That’s why the hard nosed BB’s were good in their time but are obsolete now
The modern players tune them out

We’re also liftetime undefeated against mahomes in the playoffs. Unlike the other chokers

I love BB... But I wouldn't, not anymore... Two years ago? Maybe a Different story... Now? He's 74, not as focused as he used to be, and something I'd never thought would happen, his private life, once jealously guarded, is a tabloid distraction... Not a guy id be looking at to head up a team nowadays
I loved what BB brought to NE
What you say is so true
I would like to add one more important factor
His coaching style does not motivate the modern athlete
More so the opposite

Rex Ryan was no Angel, but I would hire him for HC tomorrow.

74 isn't old today.

Thats cool man, just like all my opinions, ymmv...

GreenCow is no lady but def a little *****. Certainly no man could whine like that, gotta be a *****

Well, the name IS Green Cow vs. Green Bull (although her posts are mostly bull).

The only thing that ever made sense for me is that Butler sucked that year defending big bodies receivers downfield on contested catches and that's exactly what PHI had with Jeffrey and Torrey Smith on the outside. It was a genuinely awful matchup for Butler. And if I recall correctly, they struggled initially because Gilmore/Rowe were playing sides which resulted in Rowe on Jeffrey a lot which killed us. In the second half I recall them switching so it was still Rowe playing but Gilmore followed Jeffrey and Rowe went with Smith. From that point on they were fine with limiting the outside WRs, it was Chung covering in the slot that killed them.

For as much complaining as its gotten over the years, I actually think Rowe in the game was a fine call. They just should have started with also having Gilmore follow Jeffrey. Again, Butler was a legitimately awful matchup for the outside WRs PHI had and Rowe was fine once on Smith. However, with Chung getting torched in the slot I don't see why they didn't at least try Butler there. And the shadiness around the move and the explanation made it a huge thing too.

- Butler was scrimmaging warmups with the first team 15 minutes pregame.

- Rowe wasn't.

- Gilmore and Rowe have both stated they were not told about Butler not playing until 5 mintes pre-kickoff

- Butler suited up and was never used (outside of one special teams play).

- Alan Branch was Inactive and healthy, while BB suited up Butler. LaGarette Blount ran mostly up the middle for 92 yds on 18 carries.

- Nick Foles had the game of his life torching Eric Rowe beginning early in the game and NO adjustments were made by Belichick.

You are overlooking alot of things there.

Judging by what happened after that season, the decision might be bad but still logical. Rowe actually stayed in the NFL and started. Butler left and was exposed and he wasnt very good. He was out of the league a couple years later.

You mentioned Jefferey. It wasn't only Jeffrey who was a big guy who had trouble separating. All their WRs were big. Belichikc might've gone size against size, while Butler had ended the season poorly.

It might be as simple as that, who knows. But the league did see more value in Rowe than in Butler in subsequent years.

...."But the league did see more value in Rowe than in Butler in subsequent years."

The "League" never saw Rowe as anything more than a $16.15 million over 3 years the year after Rowe was benched for Jason McCourty in 2018. ***Butler got $30 million GUARANTEED - his IMMEDIATE GUARANTEE was twice as much as Rowe's TOTAL over 3 years with incentives.

What on God's green earth are you talking about?

But if you want to defend Nick Foles having the game of his life when BB making a healthy scratch of a starting CB then compopunding that decision by keeping the unused CB ACTIVE and not using that ACTIVE spot for a healthy DT (famously spotted by Mike Reiss at the Mall of America pregame getting food from Panda Empire), then God bless.
