Would you be ok with trading for AJ Brown

One way you can talk me out of AJ Brown is if Alec Pierce makes it to free agency. Give me the 25 year old with tons of upside. He was second in the league for yards per reception at 21.3 YPC.
Kyle Williams had almost the same YPC.
Let's give him a chance to develop.

Alec Pierce had a 1,000 yards in 15 games played. Let Williams develop and add Pierce. Teams like the Eagles, Bengals, Dolphins, etc. showed you can have two #1 caliber WRs.

George Pickens. Don’t think they should be adding anyone actually. The WR ain’t broke. Now replacing a player is different story.

I am never against adding talent, but here ultimately is the question...

What would make us better next year:
1. spending $25. AAV on a WR which would limit your ability to spend in other areas
2. Spending $25 AAV on OLine/Dline/LB and having the same WR corps next year, plus probably a draft pick.
I much prefer option 2 and whole heartedly believe that makes us much better than option 1.

I think we are seeing that Maye is turning into the type of QB that can do more with less, and makes all the skilled guys on O around him better.

The Pats have the room to do both. The Pats need help on both sides of the ball. This is the advantage of having a QB on a rookie deal.

Cant see how the eagles can take such a cap hit. The new OC will get a chance to keep him happy.

Nope, nope, nope.

Surprised how close this is. Closing in on 30, eating massive cap space. Whining about me stuff when his team was generally winning. Pretty easy no for me.

Instead draft a young, cost-controlled stud who can grow with Drake, and sink the extra money into the defense and O-line.

No disrespect to Kyle Williams. Agree with you he needs to develop and has flashed massive potential.

You can’t cite YPC average for a guy with 10 catches

He has lots of upside, I agree, lets give him time to develop.

Williams gets open more than he gets credit for. I think Drake is more confident of him. He is becoming more confident himself. I think he may blossom next year.

I know we have plenty of cap space and I like Pierce, and I don't hate AJ for the right (cheap) price.
That said, I would rather spend bigger money on Oline and or defense and let our young WRs develop, they have potential.

I understand, it's small sample size, but it's the only sample we have.
We all see he has big play, downfield and after the catch potential.
He will get more targets as he develops.
That is also a strength of our offense, the ability to spread it around, never knowing week to week which WR will be a difference maker.
Pierce didn't really blossom until his third year, I've followed him since the draft.
Again, not against adding the adding the player, just think our money is better used in other areas.

Make of it what you will, but sounds like posturing to me to try and drive the trade price up.
The Brown/Hurts and Brown/Sirianni relationships sure seem broken to me (from the outside looking in).

Not buying it either.

Or even hopefully this season.

There’s a lot of football left to be played this year. Plenty of time for him to blossom.

Agreed. “AJ is a member of the Eagles family and a critical part of our sucess,” means he’s off the table “Players like AJ are rare,” means make me the right offer
