Analytics are leading coaches to never punt and never kick field goals, it’s bonkers
I was thinking that when the jags went for it instead of kicking the fg, that there must be some analytics that show going for it on fourth down in most situations proves the better choice.

Also that close play gave the league a way to overturn the Jags' first down.

boring game

Another thing I think analytics fails to capture - momentum is a thing and I don't need your 'science' to tell me otherwise.
Agreed.

That stupid slide to risk getting a first on 4th down completely changed the game around. 14 point swing

missed the first half apparently... thought this was a 430 game... who is looking better. bills or jags?

Lawrence is the Jags biggest liability right now.
Yeah, the bills can’t stop the run and they’re passing way too much with a crappy quarterback

what is Jax's D doing. I thought they were good to great this year

****ing Lawrence, the Perennial Rookie.
The whole narrative for the Jags being legit is that Lawrence after 4.5 years finally got it and this is who he is now. Personally I think it's more likely he got on a hot streak and comes down to Earth.

The ol' "Go away from what works" strategy.

meh.
Jags running game is good....when they use it.
TLaw not looking good, but Jags D is fast and physical.
Bills will win.

Brandin Cooks would've looked nice if we'd signed him. He knows Josh's offense pretty well.

Yes, it's statistically sound to go for it there. With that said, it's also statistically sound to kick a field goal.

Just like negative reviews for a product are inherently more common than positive (people are more likely to publicly demonstrate negative feelings than positive), it's more common for people to lament a decision that doesn't work than laud a decision that does.

If a team goes for it and makes it and it changes the game in their favor, very few people reaffirm the decision, yet when it doesn't work, a lot of people proclaim that the decision making process was somehow unsound.

Unfortunately, all human beings are subject to cognitive bias. In this case, obviously analytics are not inherently "ruining" anything, as they're just a tool that must be applied by actual human beings. Perhaps the application is unsound, but that doesn't make the analysis unsound in and of itself.

The Prairie Cows defense is performing better than it should be.

What in the world? I can't see how they overturned that Cooks catch! Because it may have grazed the ground?
