Douglas was a full participant according to the Thursday injury report I saw.

Sorry I wasn't clearer. My point is that Douglas was limited last week, so the fact that Chism got ~4x the snaps doesn't necessarily tell us how Josh et al. feel about them. It also may say more about Chism's ability as a blocker than it does about his abilities as a receiver.

Assuming they're both healthy this week, we'll get at least a bit better of an idea where they stand.

I agree with both points. The nickname for Chism is mini-Mack because he willingly blocks, so he will get some blocking snaps.

How much separation and YAC can Chism accomplish while being so quick yet so slow? We will see.

He has enough of the Welker/Edelman quickness. On his first catch, he had a good 1.5-2 yards on his defender, and picked up another 23 YAC.

Chism tested quicker than Welker, and is strong with great hands. Just amazingly slow. Quick strong guys, like Welker and Edelman, are not usually the fastest but Chism is very slow, so it will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Quick, strong, great hands, and a huge heart. But really slow. It is a new combination, and it will be fun to watch develop.

BTW, these quick types need an accurate QB to really shine. Brady followed by Maye is ideal for Welker, Edelman, and Chism.

I think we're in a good position to go BPA in the first round. Hopefully we'll be in a position to get one of Caleb Downs or Peter Woods as things stand right now. But right now, I'd say a tall WR (there seem to be a lot of short quick ones in this draft but I think we're okay there), a RT and an interior OL, the TE of the future and no team can have enough pass rush.

File this under posts that aged well . . .

Pass-rushers need to be at the top of the list.
I agree. But if we are drafting at the bottom of the round, who will be left over? Always hard to get a good EDGE, QB, or LT at the end of R1. Last year the Chiefs took LT Simmons who was loaded with risk. Is that what we want to do?

We could just Draft the BPA WR @ 32.

That's why we need to sign the best available one the moment the free agency period begins.

This is an interesting counter-factual to the desperate need on the OL. I'm not saying it's not a need, just that things may not be quite as desperate.
