NFL Playoff Discussion (Other Teams)

1) Philadelphia is a terrible matchup for SF. No playmakers on a bad defense that can’t stop the run AT ALL in Philly? No bueno…The offense will have win this one..

2) Rams get a bit of a break in their matchup with Carolina. I honestly would have much rather Tampa make the playoffs from a fan perspective, but IIWII…Should be a blowout. Rams easy..

3) Buffalo vs Jacksonville may be the most entertaining game of the weekend IMO…Allen/Cook vs that D; Lawrence’s emergence with Cohen vs an experienced Buffalo defense.

4) GB vs Chicago obviously brings plenty of nostalgia franchise-wise. GB is really banged up & missing Parsons. I like Chicago for a few of reasons…1) They don’t turn the ball over & they take the ball away. They lead the league in turnover differential. 2) Excellent ground attack. 3) Ben Johnson’s scheme. 4) HFA. This should be an exciting game; especially if Chicago is trailing in the 4th (Williams will be slinging it..)

5) Houston vs Pittsburgh has the potential to be a snooze fest. Houston’s offense is similar to Carolina, in that they’re boring. Decent QB, decent/unspectacular run game/below average TE/one excellent receiver/average OL. Pretty much the same offense, with HOU getting the slight edge. However, that defense is elite & they'll give Rodger’s hell because he isn’t mobile anymore. Pittsburgh should have Metcalf back from suspension, so that should help. Houston is susceptible to deep shots, so if Rodgers can connect with Metcalf, Austin or MVS a couple of times, that could swing the game. Defensively, Pittsburgh matches up well with Houston’s offense. Stroud can move, but isn’t particularly mobile ala Maye, Allen, Hurts etc..so the Steelers’ rush should be able to get to him with a weak OL. I see this as a relatively low scoring affair; somewhere in the realm of 20-16/ 23-14, with the Texans moving to the next round.

Packers 4th team in history to enter playoffs on a 4-game losing streak.
One and done 5 game losing streak and out of Draft picks.

I think Chicago will win, but as I stated earlier, GB has experience, can run on Chicago & Love rarely turns it over. Chicago has a QB/Head Coach (first year) without playoff experience. GB definitely has a shot, but I like Chicago. Plus, I’d rather see Caleb Williams & Ben Johnson against a team like Seattle, LAR or PHI in a playoff environment.

What’s the most intriguing matchup of the Wild Card round for you & why?..

What’s the most intriguing matchup of the Wild Card round for you & why?..
Buffalo and Jags in AFC and SF and Philly in NFC.

Why? I find them both toss ups with fascinating storylines before and even after the games depending on who wins and who loses.

SF and Philly probably the most intriguing because the defending Super Bowl champs are involved.

Texans @ Pitt if the Steelers pull that out and we take care of business. It's almost like a Bye to the AFC-CG. I think the Steeler are a very weak Four Seed.

Houston/Pitt is easily the worst game of the weekend. Everyone is afraid of Houston’s defense but they aren’t the 2000 Ravens. Pitt is just flat out fortunate to be in the playoffs.

Most interesting game is Buffalo/Jacksonville. Good chance that’s a shoot out. I‘d love to see the Billdos knocked out in the first round.

And one of those losses was against the broncos and for that reason I will be rooting for them to lose.
That Raiders Team piss me too beat us at the Beginning and ended up with the #1 overall selection... go figure.

Carolina vs. Rams rematch will be interesting to me. Potentially a great game, or Carolina gets demolished. Their first meeting was very interesting for a few reasons: I don't think anyone thought the Rams would lose. And now they're going back to Carolina, so they're playing in the same place they already won.

Carolina won in the nooks and crannies: explosive plays offensively, getting multiple turnovers, including a pick 6. Carolina had one trip to the redzone, and did not convert. They had a run game that racked up quite a few yards and chewed up clock, but didn't punch it in at the goal line. Bryce Young made that his 11th fourth quarter comeback, cementing him has the youngest QB to do so. The Rams scored on 4 out of their 6 trips to the redzone.

Peeking at the Rams season, the one constant in their losses: Matthew Stafford either becomes the Matthew Stafford of old, or TO's in general. Threw 3 ints against the Falcons and lost. 2 int, 1 fumble against the Panthers and lost, SF he fumbled once and the team had another turnover as well.

Carolina is -69 in point differential this season, and has only punched in one win since facing the Rams last. Their schedule from the first half to the second half of the year became drastically more difficult.

A weird flukey game, where everything in the world suggests the Rams should beat them - but that was the story in their first meetup as well. Stafford just needs to play clean and all should take care of itself. If he really is the MVP, he needs to win this one.

"3) Buffalo vs Jacksonville may be the most entertaining game of the weekend"
Looking fwd to this one. When wife saw TL on our new 77" OLED she said, "There's a girl playing QB?"

"5) Houston vs Pittsburgh has the potential to be a snooze fest."
True but I always enjoy seeing Rogers getting slapped around regardless.

You’re absolutely spot on. Unless The Goal Line God turns it over a bunch, they should escape Charlotte victorious. McVay will surely have something cooked up for Carolina they haven’t seen. If Adams’ hammy is up to speed, I expect a blowout in the range of 37-17ish..

with all the high talk about the texans i feel they will fold vs steelers. They are the sexy pick of everyone right now.
Eagles if they can get their heads out of their ..... on offense , can be very dangerous and even the team to beat

Rams/Panthers ain't much better. I agree with Buffalo/Jacksonville being the best though.

Eagles will shut out the Niners on Sunday. Big win for the Eagles that most folks are not considering a contender.
