Not saying I think Stafford should win, he shouldn't. However I have never heard anyone try to pretzel twist themselves trying to say Maye doesn't deserve it like they are.

Ya I keep seeing the schedule stuff but 1/3 of Maye & Stafford's schedule was the same. Maye was 6-0, Stafford 4-2 and the 2 losses were squarely on Stafford turning it over 3 times in each and throwing a pick-6 in each. It's not like they had 2 common opponents, more than 1/3 of their schedule was against the same teams.

Yes Stafford had to play Seahawks and 49ers 4 times 2 playoff teams but Maye had a playoff team in his division one that will have 11/12 wins and he just took the division from after they won it for 5 straight years

Coming in 3rd in the division is the MVP? Stafford was the reason why they have 2 more losses which is the difference between them winning the division and having the #1 seed.

Then you get into the players around them, Stafford with by far better WRs and OL.

The SOS talk wasn't a thing last year when Allen won which he had the 3rd easiest schedule, Mahomes in '22 when he had the 4th easiest schedule, Newton in '15 when he had the 2nd easiest schedule, Warner in '01 when he had the 2nd easiest schedule.

Stafford/Rams have 4 wins against teams over .500
Maye/Pats have 1 but if Panthers and Ravens win it will go up to 3

To be fair, as good as San Fran's record is they have the 25th ranked passing defense. Doesnt get brought up in the media.

There's really nothing other than TDs and SoS. Pretty much every other metric favors Maye.
The odds have moved to Maye -400, Stafford +300.
AND QB doesn’t play against the ST or the opposing O. So really SoD [Strength of Defense] is a better metric than SOS. And as I posted (w details) yesterday, those numbers say there is essentially 0 difference in SOD that they both had to overcome. Both appx 16.

Strength of Supporting Cast > Strength of Schedule

I agree, and have said since the start I think Maye is more deserving when you look at the complete body of work without bias.
Problem is there is bias, and we just don't know how some voters will weigh their criteria.
With so much information available nowadays, advanced stats...etc, you certainly hope that all that is considered by the voters.
But again, you have bias and you have voters who can lean on traditional passing stats: yards, TDs, TD/INT ratio and then they throw in the SOS if it suits their narrative.

That is a very good point, Felger needs to know. So does Orlofsky (and I like Orlofsky)

This is very interesting.
I have seen multiple posts online saying Stafford has played either the hardest or 2nd hardest defensive schedule in the league, and Maye the 32nd.
That may be true, I don't know. I also don't know if they are basing that on defensive total yardage, scoring D, EPA...I really have no idea.
I pointed out a couple of days ago that on avg (based on passing yards allowed) Maye averages playing the 16th rated pass D every week. Stafford averaged playing the 19th rated pass D.
So checkmark for Maye.
I just did the same for total defensive yardage rankings.
Stafford averages playing against D's that rank 15th.
Maye averages playing D's that rank 18th.
Checkmark for Stafford, but both of those rankings (pass D and total D) are very similar, with one favouring each.
Maybe it's true that Stafford has played the 1st or 2nd toughest D schedule, and Maye the 32nd (however based on what I outlined above, is that really true?), but even if it is true, 10 mins of analysis shows you how very little difference there is, even if the 1st vs 32nd toughest sounds so damning.
Man, I really hope the voters spend some effort looking into this, because the difference truly is negligible.

Orlovsky really backpedaling now lol

Not really, Orlovsky has been singing Mayes praises all year long. Not really sure why you think he is back peddling.

McCaffreys MVP campaign took a hit tonight. Wonder who the media will be making a case for next?

Vote is Monday. When it is revealed?

Stafford will be without Davante & Ferguson today. Should put a slight damper on his MVP chase..
