I think that there is ZERO chance that our top two are leaving, so the competition is for #3 RB, FB on the 53 and on the Practice Squad.

We have a good start at camp competition with
#3 RB: Gibson, Larison, Jennings, Johnson
FB: Westover, Lampe

Larison comps to Burkhead for for me, which would be great for 3rd RB.
Hopefully he can get healthy.
I like Gibson too, but could see him as a cap casualty.

If Gibson is healthy, he is well worth #3.5M a year.

And yes, I too hope that Larison can be one of the first patriot UDFA this century to spend his rookie year on IR and then become a serious contributor.

I could see making the 53 if the team wants to give him another year to develop. I would see him as similar to Chism who it seems has worked out, although it still isn't clear whether he has more value than a healthy Douglas.

I was impressed by Josh’s comments about Chism in his presser today, starting at about 5:45 into this video. It sounded to me like Chism’s going to continue to get more opportunities now that he’s showed he can be trusted.

Chism pulled a Douglas on his first catch last week, getting out over his feet and stumbling with nothing but real estate ahead. He could have had a big gainer, maybe even scored.
