Force of habit: you can add TE now.
Add RB to it too if you want.

I don't know what more you want these guys to do. They are 13-3, fighting for the #1 seed. They rolled the Jete like a team ready to compete for a title should. Seriously. Do you need them to win by 40? 50?

I'm not opposed to an alpha #1, not at all.
But...
What would make this team better, adding a bonafide #1 in the offseason, or adding a bonafide pass rusher?
We all know the answer.
We can have Both one in the Draft the other via FA. We have $$$$$$$ and Draft picks.

Both can be true DD.. we don't have to rob the federal reserve in order to bring a guy in.. for example here me out..

Say we added Kyle Pitts to what we ALREADY have.. Diggs, Hollins, Boutte Henry.. now think about Pitts in a Josh McDaniels coached offense with an elite MVP candidate in Drake throwing to him..

Now go to the defense and add this guy up front..https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/72660/naquan-jones

From just an outside observational perview.. I saw a handful of Denver games this season. I just wouldn't continue to count on my QB having to always mount comebacks.

The things I noticed is they struggle to keep up with high octane offenses.. a team like Jax has the elixir to beat Denver.. they have a solid QB and an opportunistic defense. The formula to beat Denver is you make nix a drop back passer.. you attack the CB opposite Surtain in moss

You also get rid of ot quickly under 2 seconds because Cooper and bonitto are some Dawgs

That Denver altitude effects them as well especially in the 4th quarter.

Tom never won in Denver in the postseason your correct.. we did win in Denver in 2011, 2016 at Denver.. regular season games.
Never forget the "safety" game.

Matt Stafford rings with elite weapons: One.
Joe Burrow rings with elite weapons: Zero.
Tom Brady rings with Moss and Welker: Zero.

I'm not saying that elite WRs are not needed... wait.

Yes I am.

Build a T-E-A-M around Maye. Get him elite WRs and crap everywhere else and you have the Bengals. All. Set.
Steve is just won last year... I love having AJ and Smith on the outside..

I am all for adding talent anywhere on the roster, either side of the ball.
But let's put things in perspective:
We are the #5 scoring offense in the league
We are the #1 scoring offense in the AFC
All this in Maye's second year, first as a full time starter, and first in McD's offense, and with 2 rooks starting on the Oline, so one could speculate it will only get better.
Bottom line, the offenses job is to score points, and we do that exceptionally well.
Whether we do it with a 1500 yard WR or spread it around, why does it matter?

Fair points and I wholeheartedly agree with everything.. I'm just saying "if an opportunity presented it's self " Vrabel is going to add talent all over the roster especially on defense.. the roster is still incomplete but is good enough to compete.

I like the offense and you're not getting any complaints from me.. I'm just of the mind if something materialized that made sense for the team without disruption.

For the first time in quite a while, they can focus on adding one or two exceptional players to each side of the ball, rather than needing players everywhere.

This. This is exactly what I'm talking about. Great point.

I want Maye's job to be as easy as possible remember Brady to Gronk?? I want Maye to more than a JAG. A.J. Brown might be available in the off-season he's a lot younger than S Diggs who I love.
Since everyone says AJ Brown might be available, I doubt he will be. Signed thru 29 and cap space is OK with Eagles. Maybe he forces a trade but otherwise doubt he's leaving.
Kyle Pitts, I think, will be tagged. We can hope being able to score an elite receiver via trade but not sure there is a path to that.
Alternatively upgrade the line, if Maye has time, it doesn't matter if the receivers are not great.

2007 Brady or 2011 Rodgers level of QB play is the Maye upside if he gets a little bit of elite talent around him.
Just a question of finding it.

And Dallas Goedert and Saquan Barkley...

If you have an elite QB, which the Pats do, then you need one other elite weapon to have defenses focus on. Don't care where you put him; RB, TE, WR. The Eagles have a QB who wins but he's far from elite, and he's surrounded by elite weapons.
Whether we do it with a 1500 yard WR or spread it around, why does it matter?
Because the Cult of Verticality only understands football where the X and or Z are "the guy". They can't wrap their head around the rest of it.

I agree with you about Pitts and Brown. I doubt either will be available.

Not sure why folks aren’t beating the drum for Alec Pierce. Just caught up on his film, he’s a very dangerous deep threat. Colts aren’t in super cap position and need to sign Daniel Jones, Alec Pierce and Brayden Smith.

Either Smith or Pierce would be great additions to the Pats

You and the High Priest certainly covet the WR thing; you and your cult certainly act that a #1 WR gets them over the top. This offense is good enough to win against anyone as it is. They need to improve the D. I'm not saying ignore the WR position, not by a long shot. But you have to pay Gonzo this year... and Diggs is on a one year deal, he's not going to take a prove it deal. You're going to burn up all this coveted cap space real fast, and you need to improve the OL still AND get better at the edge AND get younger at TE AND get better at safety. All great first world problems to have, to be sure. All I am saying is that paying for a proven #1 WR isn't going to make them get off the field on third down better, or fix the defense's red zone issues.

Agreed here. On Campbell I'm not anticipating him being back any time soon.. even though not a acl it's still a ligament tear. Spillane could probably have played but being a veteran Vrabel likely felt it's best to have both he and milt getting as much rest as needed..

Check this out RF, interesting

DD, this is fascinating.. I know Diggs had a Little lull but he's been magnificent.. @Steve102 mentioned diggs.. he's on a 3 year deal no?

I feel Vrabel adjust the contract where he sees more guaranteed money..
