2 Williams - I said in the game thread without Henderson, Williams would need to make a play as he was the only other player like that who can hit the home one in a single play. And he did.

Williams got targeted 3 times, i think he ran all 3 routes well. They were a simple tree... but it is something to build off of. I stand by if they want to win, Williams needs to make a number of players in the playoffs. Just like Henderson needs to. They need to get some EZ money... Those guys can do it. Williams while slow going we are seeing steady progression. First nine games 6 targets 2 catches 20 yards. Last 6 games... 5 catches 10 targets 179 yards 3 TDs. That still isn't amazing production... less than 1 catch a guy... but these seems to be proof he is trending in the right direction. This was also his first game with 2 catches. A first for him.

What is the goal for Williams from here on out? He needs to get 1 catch a game. Not average one... get one. He should not have a 0 by his name again this year. Now we need some game to game consistency. That is the next step. Sadly we are running up of time... 2 games to get things on track. then hopefully we continue to build on it in the playoffs. If the Pats want a chance to win it all Williams needs to have some big time catches during their run among other things. I stand by now.. it is now looking more likely.

Here ya go, some eye candy, cue'd up to the 1:28 mark:

I ****ing hate impatient drafniks.

Let's let things play out a bit before tagging players as busts.

And the QB is made of glass.

He's got Andrew Luck syndrome.

He's gotten drilled so many times because CIN hasn't kept a strong OL in front of him.

Sooner or later, all that's left is shards of glass.

I have heard that the fact that the Pats have an easy schedule will hurt them in the playoffs, but history might say otherwise. Here is a chart showing teams with cake schedules since 1970 who made the playoffs. Three of them won the Super Bowl.

This is an observation/suggestion to no one in particular.

The GDT has a well-earned reputation for unbridled negativity.

Just because a knee-jerk negative emotion comes into your mind, doesn’t mean you have to post it.

Before you hit “Post Reply”, maybe consider whether posting it really adds to the conversation or is just you blowing off steam.
I don’t understand how people can even live in the GDT in real-time.
I like to focus on the game, every single player on every single snap.
No idea how you can do that whilst posting and trying to keep up with other posts in the GDT.
I don’t monitor the GDT during a game, seems like a huge waste of time.

I'll need to see Williams for another year with the same coach - I think he's got a chance to be great.

Jayden Daniels is already 25 and had multiple severe injuries. That clock's ticking, if he's in the league 5 more years as a starter I'll be surprised.
Williams does not have the makeup, he has the talent, Mahomes type of talent. People will say he is "streaky" which is another way of saying immature.

Like @manxman2601 says, Maye has to take the 5 yard pass on 1st down or the slant for a 1st down, and look for the downfield bomb less often. He did that yesterday. It looks like Maye is learning and maturing. That is why I was excited about Maye last year, he seems to be mature, listens to his coaches, and is driven. That is as important as talent - that is why Williams will not consistently make it.

Well the "fans' who went to bed, missed a good ending. It was ugly. Lots of injuries. but a Fin Win!!!
Some fans went to bed or did they just fall asleep? Those night games are hard to stay up for sometimes.

Things went perfectly for me. I was able to record the Denver and Pats games and rewatch them both (in half the time) but still get to bed just after the Pats game.

What a HUGE win. I can't wait to see the Steeler fan who cooks at my local diner. He owes me one for that win.

What a pleasure it is to see the Ratbirds and Indiots being flushed down the toilet at the same time as the Pats are rising from the dead.

I can't believe the blown call on Boutte. Those are the kind of misses that give rise to the fix-is-in talk. How the F could they all miss that?

Wow! What a great day that was.

Marty was supposed to be our answer for TEs and QBs spy now he's relegated to fake punts..
I don't understand Vrabel's love for this guy. Big and fast with zero instinct. Whoever called that play was crazy. Vrabel had to have called it or given his blessing.

you’re writing the book on Williams way too soon.
I’m glad we have Maye, but Williams has also shown growth and should only get better.
So he’s a gunslinger, that means he will never learn to check it down?

The CB just missed it: that was very close.
A new GIF?

I'm not sure how much love there is.

He's cheap and fills a roster spot. He's no worse than Gibbens or Elliss or Tavai.

He would rarely, if ever, see the field on defense if they had real linebackers on the team.

Who do we currently have to keep Them on the Bench??

There two calls that made me think the refs were trying to stop us. The Boutte call and the Williams not on the line of scrimmage. Looked like he was lined up okay to me.

I do think he is worse than those three. I don't think they are anything other than backups and I don't see him even at that level.

I can only write the book from what I see. People change, sure I could wrong. Daniels looks like he will spend his career injured. We will see if Williams shows signs of maturity it the next few years. I doubt it. As I said, Williams is fun to watch because he is an amazing talent, but I doubt he ever harnesses that talent.

Posters on the Internet sites are wrong from time to time.
