****, not another defensive tackle. It's going to be hard to replace her.

From you that is a complement. Hall of fame is for players and coaches not administrative assistants. That you don’t understand that is incredible.
Team hall of fames are for whoever the team/organization want to honor. In any organization I've ever worked for, people who do jobs like this are usually the most beloved people in the whole organization. If they want to give her a plaque or whatever in the team hall of fame for her service to the team there's nothing wrong with that. It's a weird hill to die on.

Every organization is so much more than the QB and HC.

It's actually a great way to build engagement from all aspects of the organization when you recognize people who traditionally don't get recognized. Which was one of the very points Vrabel made when he first met with the players.

To wit:

Why die on this hill instead of congratulating her? Hall of fame or not it’s ok to give her flowers and appreciate a run that long and dedicated

I’m not dying on a hill, I’m giving an opinion, it’s ludicrous to suggest an administrative assistant should be inducted into the hall of fame.
Being beloved, great at their job, etc etc can be rewarded in many ways, bit induction in the hall of fame isn’t one of them for an admin

That doesn’t mean she is worthless, it’s means the suggestion was dumb because it doesn’t apply to people in her position.

He never met a hill he wouldn't die on, hence his ability to charm us all.
So you think administrative assistants should be inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame? Will Vinatieri need to wait another year?

Of course she should be honored in an appropriate way. Why would you think me feeling she shouldn’t be honored in an inappropriate way suggest I think she shouldn’t be honored at all.

She’s already in her high school hall of fame. Given her 52 (!) years of service to the organization, why not make an exception by making her a member of the NEP HOF? It’s a nice gesture.

Can't wrap my head arounding working for 50+ years, unless out of necessity.

I am at 20 years and already dreaming about retirement!

I am going to join you on this unecessary hill. I am sure she is a great employee and they will recognize her for it.

The team HOF is for a completely different type of contribution.

Gil Santos is in there. So is the former director of the cheerleaders.

Yep. It wouldn't really be an exception as there is a precedent. Bob already added Gil Santos and Tracey Sormanti to the Pats HoF. While neither one of them played, coached, or built the team, they played a great part in furthering the brand and fan experience.

Nancy retires as the Director or Personnel Administration and has had that role for over two decades. She had team of people under her. She wasn't some low-level office lackey. She and her team were the first person draftees and free agents dealt with. Players and coaches appreciated her work. Her organization did it's job extremely well. You could argue she made the NEP a better org to deal with and not some operationally dysfunctional **** show like the Jets or some other bottom dweller.

If Bob wants to recognize someone who worked for the NE 52 years that did a good job as worthy of the NEP HOF then great. If not, then whatever. His choice.

You can't possibly think that's how they'd do it? Put her up for a fan vote with players? C'mon man, use some common sense. It would obviously be like when they put the head cheerleader in the HOF the same year as Seymour. They're not putting her in the fan voting lmfao

They'll give her a little shoutout during the ceremony and let her say a few words. She'd probably get overwhelmed and cry. Fans would have no idea who she is but they'd give her a huge round of applause because they all have souls and it's such a feel good moment. The players and team members who all seemingly love her would give her big hugs. And then she gets a little plaque or whatever. Don't be such a grinch about it.

It is probably a significant narcissistic injury for him that she probably makes twice what he does in an amazingly cool job.

That would seem a bit more than a 'secretary' or an 'administrative assistant' or no?
Misogynists don't even realize the 1001 small ways they give themselves away...
