Defense crapped all over themselves.
Coaches had no idea how to stop the bleeding at all.
We need a real DC.
This was all on coaching, and Drake Maye’s coach turned into a pumpkin (pardon the pun). The coaching **** the bed with a lack of a 2nd half adjustment, and Drake was pedestrian passing despite 2 touchdown runs. This was more embarrassing than anything. Up 21-0 and wind up getting outscored 35-10 the rest of the way. Difference is, they have a QB who still gives you a chance when down 21 points, our QB couldn’t come back from 4 points at the end.
That being said, I predicted a loss, didn’t think it would happen the way it did, but I felt keeping a double digit wining streak going is tough for any team. I felt the team would get behind early and try to come back, never thought they’d be up 21-0, but no lead is safe when Allen is on the field, he’s the best QB in football and may win his 2nd MVP in a row the way he’s ending the season.
There are some positives in my opinion. Of course Henderson was spectacular, he’s a threat to go the distance on any play. He’s up to 773 yards on only 143 carries (5.4 yards a carry) and 7 TD rushes. The team ran the ball down their throats, 246 yards rushing total, for 9.8 yards a carry, and 4 rushing TDs, and still lost, all I could do is shake my head.
I also thought Maye, despite being subpar passing, showed a lot of fight, despite not showing to be clutch at the end.
Also, this may just be a reset for the season, maybe they needed a punch in the mouth to show them that they need to play better. If we can get Milton back soon, that would be tremendous for the defense.
You can’t win every game, they weren’t gonna go 15-2, they still control their own destiny in the division, if they can win out, they will be sitting pretty. But they need to play better, Baltimore will be a big test, and the Dolphins have been playing really good football lately, so 2 really good tests for the Pats. Jets are in trouble, should win that one.
The final score isn’t as depressing as is the way it got to that score, if that makes any sense. Allen showed his true self the last two games, he’s a monster, gonna be tough to beat in the playoffs. But teams can run on them. That’s how you beat them. Run it down their throats, and if a team can play solid defense, limit Allen’s explosiveness, they can be beat.
