This young WR core is getting slept on

This is such a stupid nickname for the guy who's 4th in ypc in the entire league.
He thought Boutte was a JAG who probably couldn't get a part time job at Lowes. Boy did Boutte prove him R.O.N.G.

Zero drops on catchable balls, tied for most TDs.

Summary:
Tyquan Thornton has been a solid depth piece for the Chiefs' wide receiver room in 2025, primarily serving as a deep-threat option with his elite speed (4.21-second 40-yard dash from his draft year). Through 12 games (as of December 5, 2025), he's posted 15 receptions for 372 yards and 3 touchdowns on 31 targets, averaging a team-high 24.8 yards per catch among qualifiers. This efficiency stands out compared to the more volume-based starters, but his lower target share (about 7% of team targets) reflects his role as a rotational player rather than a primary option.

Wow thats incredible. 15 receptions for 372 yards and 3 touchdowns in 12 games. That is not only Pro Bowl worthy, its also HOF level. Just outstanding.

Chism isn’t ripping off 72 or 33 yards TD’s where gets behind the entire D. Chism has good potential as a slot WR… apples/oranges.

Williams has played very little and turned rookie opportunities into touchdowns. Suggesting he should have more stats when he is earning his way is not an argument at all. Mike Vrabel didn’t start a single game his first four seasons… was he bad?
We need 5 receivers. I am fine with Williams as #5. It's just that I think that Pop should be getting more reps and Williams fewer. That doesn't mean that I don't value Williams and hope that he develops next year.

With regard to production, I just think that, given his number of reps on Offense, I would have expected more targets and more receptions.
That's NOT a knock on Williams. I would rather have Douglas as a possible target. Maye might actually use him more if he were out there more. If niether is going to get targets, then Hooper should be playing more. We could use the extra blocker.

However, that being said, even #4 WR's needn't be getting a lot of reps with effective targets at TE and RB.

Chism has shown nothing and I don't expect to see him on the 53 next year, if we even carry a 6th. We have Diggs and Douglas in the slot. We don't need a third. Of course, I said that this year. We'll see.

I might not even have a 5th WR active unless he were to be used as a returner. But, yes, Williams has a future as a downfield threat, so having him active in case Boutte isn't available does make sense.

Hey, I really liked Lloyd when he was here.

And, yes, I really like our top four receivers; and, of course, we hope Williams can develop next year.

I believe they have some sort of plan in mind for Chism, because they could have traded him at the deadline if they felt he was superfluous. Not a guarantee, of course, but didn't Wolf say something to the effect that he was on the 53, but was still a "developing" player?

I remember you saying the same about quoting you: "NOYACS" Kayshon Boutte. Your takes have aged very well: they make me feel very optimistic about Chism next year. I might get you his jersey while I'm at it.

I think McDaniels is doing a great job at mixing the young guys like Douglas and Williams in. More importantly than number of snaps, when these guys get in Josh has plays dialed up to get them involved.

Bottom line is Hollins provides a lot as a blocker in the run game, he also is a tall big presence on third downs and goal line. Boutte isn’t supremely talented but he is Drake Mayes security blanket and the guy gets open. Diggs is the grand old man and deserves as many snaps as his rebuilt knee can handle. There’s only so many snaps to go round and the vets get preference.

All that being said, Williams is simply the most talented guy there in terms of size/speed. He looks like a potential future #1 after Diggs retires. We’ll see.

There’s no opportunity for Chsim except in the kick return game right now. The depth chart is too deep and let’s face it… he’s a slot receiver. No need to cut him yet though, he is talented and has earned what little opportunities he has gotten.

The depth chart exists… playing time isn’t a good indicator of value. Edelman rode the pine because there were more experienced vets ahead of him. There’s a process…

Chism hater because you were wrong all the way around about him. That he would make the roster. That he would have a role on the team (as small as it is).

His per yard avg on the kick return is better than Henderson's.

Any back end of the roster player's job is in jeopardy next year.

You are ****ing boring.

Has the edit function here disappeared entirely?

I have a spelling error in my post above and can't fix it.

For a guy who posts often from his phone that's concerning.

Do you the “…” next to the Report button?

It’s gone… it used to be there but it’s gone now. This is true in my IPhone and laptop…. odd.

*Nevermind, it just reappeared after I made this comment. This site is acting wonky. Is there a time limit on edits, I still can’t fix my spelling error a few posts up because the edit button ( “…”) doesn’t appear on the old post?

I don’t have any evidence but I do feel they are cooking specific plays for Williams and will unleash when we really need it. Have we tried a flea flicker yet this season?

Before the last Pats/Bills game I told him NE could win.

He insisted Buffalo was the better team. Now NE after beating them straight up is 11-2 and Buffalo is 9-4…

Mgteich is one of those “it will take years to contend” guys, otherwise he’s just gone full negative nancy on us. I’m beginning to think he doesn’t understand good from bad.

There’s definitely been select plays where Williams or Douglas were first reads. Which is smart because they’re two of the fastest WR’s on the team and enter mid game with fresh legs. Spreading the ball around in the best offense, it’s the hardest to defend.

I think not bringing Chism into camp next year is a mistake
he will have been a year into the offense, and working some with Maye

contracts, age/drop off need to be monitored with Diggs, Henry and Hollins.
I haven't see enough of Chism at WR to comment on his upside, but he can contribute on ST (many WR's cannot)
bring him back and let it play out who you keep

No, we are contending this year. We are one of the top 3 teams in the AFC (DEN, NE and BUF)

Yes, I thought that the Bills were the better team last time out, as did the vast majority of the analysts and fans outside of Boston.

The bettors think the teams even this time. I agree. Since the team has clearly gotten much better, are you predicting a big win for us?

"negative nancy" is simply hilarious. I have worn rose-colored glasses at least since the day Kraft bought the team.
