Lots of words.I've already discussed the "censorship" part of it. I'm not censoring anybody. It's the fact I put in place the ability for people to censor their own discussions from people who they don't get along with. The mods and I also interact here, so having to constantly referee disagreements can be challenging, and the tools are in place to give people the freedom to interact with whoever they want and for people to control their own experience.
I get it, nobody likes being blocked. I've been there, and it's frustrating. But if that person apparently feels that strongly, it's probably for the best. And I'm not really a "business person." I'm just like anybody else on here. I come here in my free time, and the only difference is that I try to keep things going from a technical standpoint, along with working alongside the mods to make it somewhere that people like spending their time.
As for Bill, I'm not going down that road again. I've already made it clear how much I admired and appreciated the guy, his recent personal decisions aside. Nobody complained or said anything about him in real time when the team was winning championships. Nobody said anything when he was making decisions in-game, where we laughed at other coaches like John Harbaugh, who whined about it after the fact. All of that started after Brady left, and they didn't have a viable QB. Like every other team, they struggled because you can't win if the guy under center can't play. I rooted for Mac because his failure was a setback for the team. Fortunately, they now have Maye and a chance to be competitive again.
But they don't win that Baltimore game without the coaching decisions that helped them come back from that deficit (exploiting the eligible receiver rule). Obviously, you need someone like Brady who can come up big in key moments during the postseason and finish the job, which he did that day and countless other times. We see every January/February how important it is to have a QB who can do that. Brady never flinched, and that's what made him so incredible. The same can be said when it comes to coaching, given that there are coaches every postseason who lose games for their respective teams.
Most of the narrative with Belichick was driven by talk radio after the fact, and I understand people feel a certain way, which is fine. For those who want to debate it, they can do so in the threads/forums where that exists. We're not doing it in the current threads in the main forum. Vrabel is the guy now, and we'll see how that plays out. If they lose a game in January where a decision might have been costly, we'll talk about it then. We're not going to ponder it right now when the team is 10-2.
That being said, I feel like the majority of the rest has been covered, and we enjoyed 20 amazing years. For now, when it comes to any "motive" I might have, I'd simply rather not keep pondering the chicken/egg theory or Belichick's current run at UNC on the main forum and would prefer to focus on the current season and team, the same way we did with Brady.
