And to be fair, when I put this together, I did it with the ability for people to remove a person or two whom they just couldn't get along with and were better off not interacting with. Instead, I didn't plan for an individual user to place a high number of people on that list, which exacerbates the fact I haven't been able to turn off the notifications. However, like I did with toggling the ability to show/hide OP threads with the ignore, I'll figure this out as well.
Tch. Rookie.

Thanks. But I thought if someone blocks you, their posts remain visible to the blockee.
No, fair is fair. You can't have someone block you and then have them be allowed to still view your posts/interactions. That wouldn't be cool/fair at all.

You ought to put SBB in your test environment from now on. I'm kinda pissed at how good of an idea that is, even if completely petty

Yesterday SB1 quoted me, i got the notification but not the actual post. I pmd him and he said he hadn't blocked or put me on ignore. Same thing with the RainMaker

Agreed. The whole point of blocking, aside from preventing the blockee from interacting with you, is to not be subjected to posts by the blockee. Having those posts still be visible defeats the purpose. It's why what Twitter has done in the past year is dumb (you can see who blocked you and still see their tweets, you just can't interact with them). If you're done with someone you need to be completely done with them, and that includes access to them in any capacity.

That's not what I was referring to. There are people who have blocked me -- they can't see MY posts -- but I can see theirs. At least, that's how I thought it works. Where I got confused was what apparently has happened w/SBB; I could not see his posts even though I did not block him.

Exactly. If you feel strongly enough to block someone, you shouldn't be allowed to see that person's posts or interactions unless you unblock them.

This is how I find out I’ve been blocked by signbabybrady. I must have said something about BB that he didn’t like (I’m guessing it was this at the end). He’s way too defensive/sensitive about him.
Oh - I was blocked too! No wonder could not see the initial post in the Reid thread. I thought there was a new way to post a poll without a post LOL.

First time I have been blocked, that I am aware of, since 2008! Or did I block him?

It's basically broken down like this:

1) If it's the Ignore or Forum Mute, they can't see your posts, but you can still see theirs. Just like when someone ignores you, you can still see them, but they're not looking at you or listening.

2) If someone blocks you, those two things hold true, but by blocking you, you're prevented from seeing all of their posts/interactions/etc. However, your posts are hidden from them as well, since it wouldn't be fair for them to block you and then still be able to see your posts.

You told to me to block them. I went through and blocked everyone who made fun of Bill in the mega thread.

I thought before I quit it was worth a try. But now you're deleting all my threads. And siding with the haters even more.

And there doesn't appear to be a way to unblock anyone unless I happen to see their name randomly somewhere to hover.

But whatever it's actually been kind of fun with the haters not being able to see me at least until you deleted it all.

For me it all comes down to censoring. If someone wants to post on a public message board their content should be visible to all. If they don't like it they don't have to post. If they don't want to read my stuff give them a tool to mute me but it shouldn't impact anyone else.

Yeah I thought the only thing keeping you from seeing a user's post is your own block, not theirs

I did. For your own mental health, it makes sense. No point in interacting with people if it's just going to create a negative experience, and that's why those things exist - for people to have the ability to control that.

There you go trolling me again. You don't need to be condescending with the mental health BS.

Not trolling you, and I guess the word "sanity" would be better. If someone is making me miserable, I tend to prefer to avoid them for my own sanity, which is the reason it made sense that you block them.

I stand by what I said but it may not have been his motive for blocking. It's looking more like simply a meltdown and he went on a blocking spree for no apparent reason.

Apparently I was confusing "ignore" with "block," thanks for the explanation.

No worries. The latter is obviously the last resort for some and goes above and beyond the normal parameters, so I obviously understand.

If you don't want to use them they just give power to the trolls you have to block them before they block you or stuff starts disappearing.

I also think someone being able to log off and read posts of users that have blocked them or even screenshot them so they can "reply" without the blocker ever knowing...that's a problem. I can read everything when logged off. If you block, you ought to be done with them full stop.

I know some NFL forums don't allow "guest" access to read posts. Don't know if that's feasible here but that could solve a bunch of problems.

They aren't making miserable I actually have fun exposing their/your hate. Getting censored sucks though.

But it's clear you favor the Belichick hate.
