This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

Only in this fanbase could a win be 'a step back'.
A road win. But that’s fine, now we are scared of the 2-10 Giants.
I think some of them think we will still end up 6-11

Exactly. 12 straight games* and 6 wins on the road. Big time injuries on both sides of the line. I don't care who it's against or how it looks. It's another win stacked. Let's see how much of a "step back" this win is when we get the 1 seed on conference record tiebreakers

*games, not wins
9 straight wins and they have told us what was wrong with every one of them and how it will catch up to us.

I thought the goal line issues were related to the left side and Tonga being out.

Exactly. Being able to recover from being down 10-0 on the road after having your QB throw a pick-6, and still finding a way to win when you play less than your best is a step in the right direction to me. Did the cowboys take a big step back yesterday because they played poorly at times? What are we doing?

I tried to watch Bedard's post game podcast but the guy who acts as his host immediately started crying " what's wrong with Drake Maye?" so I shut it off. At 23 He's the best quarterback in football while learning MacDaniels offense and these numbnuts are crying about a bad quarter. Seriously wtf is wrong with these people? Do they expect him to be great every minute of every game? Is being the best quarterback in football not good enough for them? WTF? I'm getting very negative about the negativity, seriously folks, STFU with the " what's wrong with Drake Maye" ****. It's like WTF is wrong with Larry Bird, he just missed two 3 pointers in a row?

I came to post just this as well.

10 and friggin’ 2.
I’m eagerly awaiting the day aesthetics of play factors into the standings alongside wins and losses. These posts will help me with the post game break downs and understanding the good losses and bad wins better

Our quarterback sneak is ineffective, and Drake is always too high. We struggle to run for a single yard. McD is aware of this and must devise a better scheme. We were repeatedly stopped by the league’s 31st-ranked run defense on the goal line. That’s embarrassing. Please, give us a naked bootleg, a Philly special, or something completely different from what we’ve seen. Westover blocks like a piece of paper. Just figure it out. We must fix this aspect of our game before the playoffs.

Totally agree. Westover is not a good fullback.

I'm with you in wondering what was wrong with Maye. It was as if he was trying to throw a ball he hadn't practised with and suddenly his biggest strength -- touch and accuracy -- had gone.
Reportedly one of the radio commentators thought Maye took a shot to the head early on. Can't say I noticed it. But maybe could explain his erratic start.

There was a lot of late movement by their D-line. Confused Maye and the OL?

If you need a tough yard to gain where the defense is all in on preventing the run, do not give the ball to Rham right up the gut under any circumstance. He doesn't fall forward, accelerate, or juke in the backfield fast enough to rely on him in crucial moments.

Call me crazy, but Maye played like he was quarterbacking under the influence (qui). He eventually sobered up. Threw some great passes to Douglas, who is still engaged in an eternal battle with the turf monster.

Injuries suck and could even derail our season, but I'm curious to see if some shuffling of players will result in a line that can run block better than we have seen.

No huddle makes your defense more tired. It also gives the other team more possessions. Hardly any team uses it anymore.

I do think the goal line/ redzone offense needs to be worked on. Failing to score TD's will cost a team in the postseason. Same with the red zone D.

The pass rush isn't very good
Agreed. Cincy was the wrong team to go no-huddle against. Their offense was the threat not their defense. Games they won they outscored the opponent; didnt actually beat them. The more time our O was on the filed the less they had a chance.

I saw the game-length posting and this was actually the LONGEST GAME all year; by like a full 10 minutes. I still felt like there was some home-cooking on the clock, (not counting down all time so that there was time left after our possession) that the Refs didnt pay attention to. Does the ref actually keep a running clock in his hand/pocket or does he go by the stadium clock and just time the current play?

3 quick thoughts:

1. We need some designed runs for Maye, especially near the GL. Maybe an RPO even, just SOMETHING that will give the offense more diversity and give their D more to prepare for.

2. Josh has been spectacular this season BUT, every running play seemed telegraph exactly where it was going. No counters.

I'd like to see something more like we saw from the SF run game last night where it seemed like McCaffery always had a main hole and a cut back lane as a plan B. Just a thought.

3 'Drake "Drake Maye" Maye is a catch phrase that badly needs to suffer a horrible death. NOTHING could be dumber SOUNDING. Go back to the drawing board ,PLEASE

Might have taken a blow to the head, I've never seen him throw such a bad pass unless it slipped out of his hand

This team is mentally tough. **** 1st quarter, down by 10 points. They came right back. Impressive. This is a step in the right direction. Building a winning culture. Talent has to improve this offseason. Another solid draft and smart free agent additions. Players will want to come here again. Which was not true just a year ago.

It was crazy that on a couple of those plays he ended up backwards. No chance of pushing into the end zone.

The Pats were coming off two 4-13 seasons in a row, but we expect them to whoop team's asses now? No team is doing that this season. We are seeing many similarities to the early dynasty days were games were close, offense stalled, but the defense stopped a last minute drive.

Run defense is starting to leak while the Pats lack of push in the run game is a major concern.

Can Douglas please stop tripping over himself? He's got the Ellis Hobbs disease.
This. Whenever you loose your best defensive player upfront it's going to be noticeable. Buffalo lost ed Oliver and thier defensive line is pathetic against the run.. I'm never going to complain about an ugly win.. any fan who forgets go back and youtube some of those early patiots they won ugly.. I'll take 10-2 all day..

There is, indeed.

It's a paradox:

- Injuries and poor play decrease the chances the team has of making a deep run in the playoffs

- Overcoming adversity increases the chances of making a deep run in the playoffs
This. They are learning from winning as opposed to learning in losses.
