Patriots Injury News Will Campbell Week 12 Injury [11/26 update: Placed on IR]

Days like this I look at what these guys pony up to play the game and I'm far from jealous. Yay, everybody knows my name and they love me and I have no unmet financial needs, pretty much evah... meanwhile, pain...
Meh. I snapped an ACL and didn’t get paid anything, in fact it cost me money. But I’m sure it hurt just as much as those guys hurt.

Not directed toward you, but I'm getting pretty sick of these Twitter Doctors.

"Oh, he hurt his knee, you don't say." This one literally said 'It's an MCL, ACL, and/or a meniscus tear" All he left out was the PCL and dislocated kneecap.
It certainly does seem that these guys can tell ACL/MCL on the field these days, based on the particulars of the injury. We had a LT get hurt (ACL) in HS and the trainer and Dr. on the sideline diag'd it and sent him to get the MRI to confirm. He had surgery after swelling subsided, a couple weeks later if memory serves. They obviously couldn't be 100% sure, but they knew based on how it happened and where the pain was. If they can tell that in smalltown NH, they certainly have the best people on the sidelines at an NFL game to properly diagnose injuries.

Pushing Will out there for the Bills game seems unlikely and dangerous.
Even if things stabilize after swelling, pain management and 2 weeks of therapy, I think it'd be irresponsible to rush him on a weakened knee. He's a big piece of the future of this team. It'll be 4 weeks to the Ravens game - that seems best case.
But, who knows how he responds or feels confident in it? We'd surely need him more for Bills & Ravens, but at least if he can get back by Jets & Dolphins to ramp up for playoffs and try to ensure division record.

The silver lining is that they should both be back for the playoffs if everything we're seeing is accurate.

But to say 'they won't be gone long' is pretty ambitious. It's far more likely we're dealing with Lowe and Brown on the left side for the rest of the regular season. An MCL sprain is still a tear, and will be 4-6 weeks on the low end, and a high ankle sprain for Wilson (which is what it looked like) is around the same timeframe.

And we won't know anything for sure until the MRIs are complete.
They have to weather the storm. This is why you build depth. Hopefully everyone is back and healthy for the playoffs, that matters more than one more victory over the next month. They have a nice lead for home field advantage…. next man up.

You simply can't tell by a player's immediate reaction how severe an injury is. If you've watched football for as long as most people here have watched football, then you have to know that.
Yes. I was wondering how Mac Jones would’ve looked if he were taking that cart ride?

A sprain is probably the best case scenario out of that. Having him ready for the Bills game might be a lot to ask but fingers crossed.

Probably waiting on an MRI for him too, my best guess is a high-ankle sprain, that's what it looked like anyway.
Would like to see some Caedan Wallace at Guard he was a Third Rounder afterall. He has a year of NFL seasoning under his belt: he shouldn't be worse than Benny.

Agree. believe we can get by for a few games without Campbell.. but the more Dyer need will be for the postseason run.. just like Williams having your best players as healthy as possible for the playoffs is what is the moat important thing here..

Pray for Lowe’s health.

Replacing Lowe is not something I would hope to have to do.

Yeah, the Lachman test is like, super-accurate, and pretty easy to do. They knew what he had before they got him off the field.

"Omninos," eh? You forfeiit your right to be taken seriously with such gibberish.
It may just be a typo. They happen in varying degrees of severity.
Omninos” is a grade 3 typo. That keyboard may not recover this season.

forfeiit” is just a grade 2 typo. With the bye week coming up that keyboard is expected to recover before the game after the bye.

Lowe finally has good coaching which he never had before. He'll never be good but maybe he can turn into a serviceable backup.
Good points. Did you see lowe fall on the Drake run. Hilarious ...but yes.. the coaching makes all the difference.. PatsFan2 mentioned about Wallace do you anticipate he will finally be active?

The thought makes me numb.
We can take blows to anyone on the roster not named Drake.. Lowe will have to man up and show some balls.. he's s young guy and still can find himself making a career as a serviceable player if he can be solid.. at this point there's no other LT on the roster right?

No one's opinion is worth jack ****. There is simply no reliable way of predicting the type, extent and magnitude of injury without an MRI, and anyone who pretends otherwise is full of it.

Speculate all you want. But that's all it is. Speculation.

Fortunately Campbell's arms are too short to present much of a target, and were not apparently injured.
Uh huh. Twelve-year-old doctors are rare. Congrats on being such a prodigy.
