Ja'Marr Chase Suspended 1 Game; APPEAL DENIED

I love the Pats and the game of football. But by god to I hate this league and the people who run it (owners/Goddell, etc)

I wouldn't be shocked if goodell says we have to review the evidence, Chass plays against the pats and then is suspended

A delay in the suspension if that results from how the league determines the suspension gets implemented is definitely the most likely outcome. How that happens, whether it comes from delaying the predetermined 'decision' because of the need to 'review evidence' or in hearing the appeal of the inevitable suspension, is the question

Those are normally pretty quick processes.
In this case it should be super quick. Review any video footage, interview both players involved and any player/official/staff in close proximity. This could literally be wrapped up in a couple of hours.

If Chase does get suspended, I bet he just serves it rather than appealing. He'll have better numbers the three weeks upcoming (probably 2 of those games with Joe Burrow) after the Patriots. That's all he's playing for this year anyway.

Depends on the timeline.

1st step is the NFL announces a fine/suspension

Player then has the opportunity to appeal the ruling within x # of business days. Chase can push it out and make it logistically impossible for the NFL to schedule a hearing and come to a post-appeal hearing ruling before the game.

That's gross!!

If you go to the Bengals forums most of their fans said he did it and should be suspended. They also feel this weeks is going to be a loss no matter who plays and they think the team should give the back ups a chance to play to see what they have. Personally I would not be in any rush to bring Burrow back out to potentially get hurt again in a season that is now lost. This is another organization that needs to re-build from the ground up.

Will the NFL suspend Jamar Chase for a game? probably

It isn't really a question of if they will, it becomes a question of when they actually suspend him...

He can appeal the suspension... if the NFL doesn't get to it right away, he could play in the Pats game...

Looking down the road, the week after the Pats, the bengals have the ratbirds... if he plays in the Pats game, will most likely miss the ravens game ... which is also when Joe Burrow is circling on his calendar as his return from injury game...

He'd (and we) would be better off if he sat out the Pats game...

But, since the Pats are involved, the NFL won't suspend him, merely fine him for unsportsmanlike conduct

They've got Ravens/Bills/Ravens after this game - believe it or not, Cincinnati is not dead in that division yet. And they could have Burrow back.

As close to death as one can get and even if they won out they need help.

Maybe but it may come down to something more important than what's better for his personal numbers or better for his team. What's best for Big $hield is the operative question

Yeah, that's why I said 'if he's suspended'. It would be the most 345 Park Ave-ass thing ever if he just gets fined.

I'm guessing it's 50/50 as i'm assuming he'll appeal and that's another process.
If he were suspended and appealed that lets him play Sunday - even if he loses that means he'd be out against the Ravens, not the Pats

There’s an expedited appeal process for this. If they’re going to suspend him, it’ll be announced today. If he’s going to appeal, it will likely be heard tomorrow.

What is there to appeal? You only appeal stuff you think you can get away with. There is no question to this.

If that's the case then it still comes down to whether they want him for the Pats game or Ravens game. Seeing as the Ravens game is on Thanksgiving I could see him opting to be back on a primetime game rather than playing against the Patriots.
