I do think with considering Bill, you have to also include "who is he bringing with him?"
Bill is going to want his own people both with coaching and management.
ironically, in another situation, Bill could potentially hire Daboll on his offensive staff.
at Bill's age, there also would have to be a succession plan, that apparently as more comes out, did not go well at all in NE, with McD and Mayo not working out under Bill's ego.

It isn't about the strictness. They can handle that. It is about being a butthead. Vrabel is strict, but is on the field for injuries and greets every player after the game. They know he cares about them, and they need that. There certainly is a culture change in the modern player and what they will tolerate. They won't tolerate buttheads like they used to. And of course, Bill isn't getting results these days.
I'm pretty sure every coach greets their players after. Bill circled the locker room hugging everyone.

Pretty sure Mayo did too but I don't recall too many locker room scenes after wins last year so I could be wrong on him.

The big difference is Vrabel seems to like to get everyone on the way in. It does seem a little more personal that way but that's probably just more of an image thing how it comes off on our screens.

Daboll had the job when BB was available.

And, the Giants GM shipped Barkley off to the Giants biggest rival and they've already won a SB and sit atop of the NFCE @ 6 - 2.

Meanwhile, the Giants are looking at 2 - 11 after GB, DET, NE. Desperate times require desperate measures.
I know it's not you but people can make fun of my Bill stubborness all they want. So long as teams chose Daboll and Raheem Morris over Bill 2 years ago I know I'm right. Fact that haters can't live with. And that's just 2 examples. And here's the thing too maybe fails but when he gets it right you know what that looks like and you couldn't say that about most options.

The Giants are keeping the GM who will oversee the HC hire.

As usual, the hot candidates are the OCs and DCs of teams who are winning big right now.

Obviously finding the next young coach comes with serious value when you find a McVay or whoever. But I also feel this recipe results in a watered down version often with little experience especially when you're not the first one to poach from that team.

I prefer experience. But I guess poaching the savant DC off a division rival who just played the AFC title game and has HC experience and rings as coordinator isn't always one of the choices.

Getting it out there early when no one comes knocking.

I was thinking the same thing: would love Daboll here with Drake Maye: like what he did with Allen.

I hear ya but let’s not screw up a good thing we have going right now. Maybe in the offseason bring him in but now? No flipping way.

**** that. They already have MacDaniels coaching him, bringing in Daboll would only confuse things.
Yeah why would they need Daboll? McDaniels isn't going anywhere.
