I need to note a few understated positives:
1. I commented to my son in the 3rd qtr - that looked like the closest thing to the Brady "dink & dunk" Pats I've seen since 2016. Maye was playing the short game, and just picking them apart. When we couldn't run at all, JMD went to his old quick game for the 3yd outs and 5yd curls to RB. It's actually a very big part of Maye growing up in this offense.
2. While even Fields was picking our secondary apart at times (with lack of pass rush) the DB's showed the ability to get physical and be fast and started tackling really well. (Vrabel noted Pettus in the post game - he should play more)
3. They weren't running well, but kept it relatively balanced - so much so that Trey actually ran 3x for a 1st down on the last possession to ice the game. That was HUGE! Getting Rham & Jennings back will help, but Hendo showed a lot of grit playing the bulk of the game.
4. Even though I was frustrated we left a lot of plays out there (drops by Diggs & Hollins), and gave up more than we should have to scramblin' Justin... I was never worried. And it's been a long time since I had trust in our O & D that we can close it out in the 4th qtr.
Jets had 245 total yards on a completely gassed defense from the start of the game, a lot of that came on their first and last drives. 14 points.

I feel pretty good about that.

I ain't going to write much because it was a Thursday night game and most of what I could say was already written in the 15 pages of this thread.

One thing I want to say is a lot people on this board last year and early this year said that Maye had zero pocket presence. Tonight and even the last few weeks, he has had elite pocket presence. The guy has been manipulated the pocket as good or maybe even better than Brady ever did recently.
Maye has eyes in the back of his helmet knowing just when to leave the pocket and an uncanny ability to find a route out of trouble most times.

He is elusive and if Maye finds open ground he can do damage because he is just plain fast.

Very rare QB. To have that cannon arm possessing power and accuracy, but also having superb mobility.

One thing I wanted to call out . Why was fields untouched in so many of his runs.

Were our spies not that effective. Need to fix that before we meet Lamar and Josh Allen . Should it be mapu or schooler used for spying.

Please consider using different terminology. 'That' word could trigger some folks PTSD
Thank you in advance for your understanding

Cam is a loser. Choked away a winable super bowl and many a game while playing for the Pats. Games where he could have risen to the occasion and won.
Good times.

It's a chore for him to make it to the 30.. personally I feel he's doing returns for a few reasons.

To keep him involved and not inactive each week.

To give Marcus some breaks

Pop is probably a better option handling the duties IMO..
There was a time when I wanted Chism replaced with someone like Williams or Henderson, but there are a LOT of big hits that happen on KO's (which is how Gibson got hurt) and I don't want to see them subjected to that.

Chism usually gets it back to the 30 so I'm good with him taking the shots

I don’t know. I mean discussing concerns is fine, but when your only conversation immediately after a win by a team with the best record in the league is all the terrible negatives you can think of, I just don’t know why you bother being a fan.

How any Patriot fan right now can not be happy as a pig in **** is beyond me and I wonder if those people can ever be happy about anything.

We are winning the 2025 fan lottery, and still miserable? Don’t get it.
I totally agree but you know we have a handful that only post to complain. They are just as bad as the fans that demand a player to be cut one week and extended the next. We truly have some dysfunctional individuals lurking around here

Road to the #1 seed continues. This isn’t 2021 where they got hit with playoff teams 3 out the last 4 games. Pats need to continue to beat up on the bad teams and rack up AFC wins.

Cincinnati’s offense will be a big test the defense and Flacco is an ******* like Eli Manning that likes to derail good team’s seasons.
The Bungles defense is pathetic. tunscribe futile.

The Pats should able to rush or pass at will and build up a lead that makes Cincinnati 1 dimensional.

I think he plays slow as a kick returner, but would look a lot quicker as a slot receiver. Our kick return game kind of sucks right now.
Henderson took one to the house in TC.

Just sayin’

Not gonna name names, but I noticed one poster here who loves criticizing Pats draft picks, didn’t post for two weeks after the Pats draft.

Couldn’t find anything to complain about?

I am sorry I did not get the reference. At the risk of sounding naive, could you elaborate please.

KC Refs @ Donkeys.... Hate the Chiefs, but would be good for the broncos to drop a spot. or alternately, getting KC closer to being eliminated would be good as well. Decisions decisions...
There are so many games in this league every year that I wish both teams could lose.

Sorry it wasn't my intent to be confounding, try putting that word together with '___gate' and see if the reference makes a tad more sense
I got it after you typed when I thought what is it with spy and patriots

How naive . Got it now ..
. Spygate
So...

...but then you used the full term.

Again with the knife twist. I see what you're doing there

I do remember a holding call yes
Pats had only 2 penalties accepted the whole game both holding.

Campbell
Westover on a nice 10 yard Johnson run that came back.
Moses was called for holding, but NY declined.

Fields had 116 passing yards all game, 41 of which came on the final garbage time drive.
If that’s “picking us apart” I hope we get picked apart every game.

Campbells was questionable, particularly when compared to what jesters got away with.
Westpvers was stupid. If he just put his hands inside of DT arms/shoulders it would have been fine

Moses I didn’t see.
