I like Hooper in the passing game, but he’s the most expendable of the bunch. Imagine replacing him with Otton and getting someone who can help blocking as well? Neither Henry nor Hooper are particularly good at it.
I don't know, I think Hooper has been pretty reliable.

A massive outcome from this game isn't that the Pats are for real. Anyone with half a brain knew that already. It also isn't the fact that Maye is now MVP front runner. No the biggest outcome in my opinion is the fact that Henderson might now become someone a DC has to account for. Ditto for Williams. Now, it's only one game, but I think there is more meat on that bone even for this year.

That is massive for this offense. It's baby steps for now, but today was a big positive step in that direction.
I think Jonothan Taylor is MVP frontrunner

It could but this team is also playing with house money, it's a flawed incomplete roster that was projected to be around .500.

They're likely going to win 12+ games that's a successful season regardless of what happens in the playoffs, it's not even a year ago this team was an unwatchable mess right there with the worst in the league.

This is year 1 of a long potential window, if the QB and coach are good you're a contender any year.
These things are not linear. See Houston in 2023 vs 2024 with Stroud. And Washington in 2024 vs 2025 with Daniels.

It's more probable than not that they are good going forward. But nothing is guaranteed.

That was a great game. I was worried going into it and the D, as usual, gave up 7 on the first drive. I hope this keeps working for them.

Henderson 2nd TD run, with him asking permission first, was awesome and a bit funny with Maye yelling at him to go down. Should he have gone down? Maybe... but I was OK either way.

Let's go drub the Jets Thursday.

I also learned something in this game. I guess it's legal to launch yourself into the ball carrier's helmet with your own helmet as long as he's in bounds when you do it. After all, Gene Steratore said it's true. I think it's a special rule too. It's only legal if the ball carrier is named Drake Maye.

I don't understand why Hollins' catch was marked two yards back from where he caught it and really don't understand why Vrabel didn't challenge it. That was clearly caught beyond the first down line. Why Romo was going on and on about where his knee went down was a head-scratcher. Has he never heard of forward progress?

Projected by who? Whoever you name was wrong. That doesn’t mean the team is worse it means the “projectors” got it wrong.

They are not “playing with house money” that is a completely ignorant way to look at professional athletes playing professional sports. Players show up expecting to win. They don’t analyze what people think and decide to accept a level of failure as acceptable and then count moral victories.

lost the turnover battle and penalty yardage but still beat a good team pretty handily (we did give them a garbage time td at the end). That shows the talent on this team, hopefully continues to clean it up a bit.

People can hate all they want, but our inability to be more consistent with balanced drives in the 4th qtr WILL hurt us in the playoffs.
Yes, I'm thrilled by the big plays. But, you can't count on 3 50yd+ TD plays against good teams in Dec / Jan.

OL run-blocking is terrible. Drake not taking the easy checkdowns to Henderson in the 1st half hurt us. Those are drive makers.
They're going to have to get better at those things if we want to get past the 1st round.

On the positive - we're legit talking about playoffs!
Sound like you are the hater.

Just got done reading the game day thread. ****ing hilarious. I especially liked the posters who **** all over Drake Maye for sucking so bad. Some really bright fans in there. For some reason they don't seem to realize that there is a team playing against the Patriots. They want and expect easy street every minute of every game, anything less means the Patriots players and coaches suck. Some posters quit on them faster than Navy Seal candidates during Hell Week.

Hey Ian, can you install a bell so fans can officially quit on the team during the game?

I feel both Henry and hooper can be replaced. Get Otton and draft a TE in 3rd round or 4th round if it's a deep draft .

Once we get brock lampe and the other injured RB from IR next year it's gonna be a fun unit. I don't think Henry is worth 15 million dollars next year. He might be a cap cut or restructure. Boutte and henderson development and growth is huge and hollins will be safety valve.

He’s grasping on to every last straw right now
He hates the patriots and had to find a way.

Actually I’m not sure he hates the patriots but defending his origibsl
Position that they sick is more important to him than them actually winning.
I have no doubt he was rooting for a loss today so he could use 7-3 as an “I told you so” for his 5-12 prediction.

When Hollins caught it he wasn’t forced back behind the first down marker he came back on his own and then was tackled.

Seems like a good plan for the mini bye week coming up after Thursday. Front office needs to get to work on Tonga and Chaisson asap. Hawkins is growing on me as well. Want to get an impact safety in the draft, but Hawkins back would be a benefit as well.

I agree. They would be well advised to get some of their own guys locked before free agency gets here. Chiasson, Tonga, Boutte and a number of other guys have earned extensions.
