OT: Cowboys DE Marshawn Kneeland passes away at 24 years old

It's still unclear what came first (his suicidal ideations vs. his encounter with the police).

The ideations. The encounter with the police occurred after the 1st Welfare check.

I'd never heard of this gentleman before his death, but obviously I'm horrified when anyone passes away that young. My deepest sympathies to his loved ones.

Or he was feeling suicidal, driving erratically because he was in distress, chose to run instead of pulling over when his erratic driving was noticed, and decided to act on his suicidal inclinations after crashing his car while running from pursuit.

Could have been driving erratically in a subconscious attempt at suicide by police.

Who knows? Assuming a suicidal individual is thinking rationally is obviously not a good assumption.

He was also not far from the team's training facility, about a mile maybe IIRC, as if he were hoping that seeing it might help dispel those thoughts; or that perhaps somehow someone would emerge from there and guide him to where he needed to go...

The Initial encounter was over 10 miles away. Where the car was found was less than a half mile from the Training Facility. But it also wasn't far from where he lived either.

The major highway, Dallas North Tollway, runs not that far from there. It's pretty straight stretch where one could easily hit 100mph at that time of night. He probably pulled off the highway there because it was convenient and he hoped to lose whatever pursuit was after him.
