Think he is on the roster at least until June 1st next year. Either he shows that he can be a solid rotational guy that we want to stick around, or (according to OTC) can trade him and get 6 million in savings.

Correct. Rice was waived in camp and had bounced around getting try-outs without getting a PS offer until the Pats signed him

Dang, really? WOW. Thats a pretty huge move.

Problem with the Pats is they aren't going to be trading Gonzo, like Sauce...so they will need money to pay him. Thats the issue here. They aren't trading their Sauce, they are keeping him. People need to realize that and the money needs to come from somewhere. That 50 plus million in cap space will get eaten up pretty quickly.

Lets be real, if you are Miami or the Jets your not trading anyone decent to the Pats. Same for a number of other teams. They are already concerned worried we could see another long term run with Drake Maye. If Im an owner Im not having those conversations. Then who is out there that will make a significant improvment to NE and doesnt cost more than a 4th rounder? Then again crazy stuff happens and I'd love to see Breece come to NE.

I'm fine with using a draft choice or even two to improve the team's chances to go deep into the playoffs. You seem to think that PHI's approach is wrong. We could improve the team at DE, EDGE, CB, S, RB, TE or WR. I'm NOT concerned with WHERE Vrabel chooses to improve the team.

I'm not sure if it's luck or skill, but PHL has been pretty good at getting good value (i.e. not overpaying) for some of its recent deals.

That seems to be the exception not the rule.

It's not just about what we want, it's also about what they'll take in return.

Then you have the case of Ms Skunk who simply won't deal with us.

I suspect da Jete are the same.

They could not bear it if we got Breece Hall and he became our RB1 as we sailed deep into the playoffs.

Rice was a 2024 7th round pick, played with the Chargers last year including the practice squad, and was released after camp in 2025. He was not on the Chargers PS in 2025.
