He’s the reason the Falcons felt hope. If Pats were up 21-7 at the half, totally different game. But Maye’s dumb fumble gifted them 7, and then the INT led to another 7. He really seemed to be out of rhythm most of the game, especially in the 2nd half. I’m sure he will talk about it and say he has to be better. Have to give the Falcons defense credit, down 21-7 late in the first half, and then Maye ****s the bed and the Falcons make them pay.

The almost game tying drive, Gonzo drops an easy INT that would have at least gave the Pats a FG, and he wouldn’t have gotten hurt on the next play (interference on Gonzo). That was the turning point late. Pats defense made Penix look like Steve Young. Zero pressure all game except the first drive.

Injuries are now a concern despite a 6 game win streak. For a team that has done so well with 2nd half adjustments defensively, today not so much.

This might be the kick in the ass the Pat’s needed. Play like this next week, and streak over, and probably get blown out. Got very lucky today. Somewhat embarrassing performance against a team that got blown out vs Miami (Miami !) last week.t
Yeah, that gave the falcons a boost scoring that td at the end of the second quarter. But after that fumble and td he seemed tentative his passing wasn't as sharp, and he hung onto the ball to long. I think he started thinking about his past lack of ball security earlier in the season, and that affected his play

Costly victory today. Gonzo, Boutte, and Elliss all knocked out. Drake had an off game with two turnovers. We almost let this one slip away - Falcons looked like the better team for the last 60% of the game - we were hanging on for dear life. Hopefully extent of injuries becomes apparent real quick to the coaching staff so if need be they can use some of their ample cap space and bring in a fill-in before 11/4 (trading deadline). But on the bright side - we're 7-2, 1st place AFC East, Indy lost so we're tied for 1st in the AFC in the loss column. And maybe Buff loses against KC and we get a bigger lead in the division.
Drake had one TO. Some combination of Bradbury and Onwenu should step up and own the other.

I am not ready to give up on Kyle Williams yet. Doesn’t look good for this year, but he is getting open. He needs to learn how to read defenses and make route adjustments or he will never make it in a McDaniels defense.

I was shocked he punted at the end instead of going for it on fourth down. But the team was in a tough spot on the field
In fairness, a punt would likely pin us deep and we hadn’t done a good job moving the ball in the 2nd quarter. They had the 2 minute warning as a timeout too. If they’d have stopped us on 3rd down they’d have got the ball back and would have been confident of getting enough yards in time to kick the winning FG.

I did think they would and should have gone for it, but the way the game was going, I can kind of understand why they punted.

Beat themselves and still won.

Let's not make the first part of that statement a habit, and the second part will remain a habit.

A sign of a good team is the ability to come away with a win, even when they don't play a particularly good game, or deserved to lose.

No, it was a terrible overthrow by Maye. Henry was wide open on the play.
Charles Davis said it was both a miscommunication and an overthrow — meaning if Henry went where Maye expected him to go, it would still have been an overthrow but not as bad. He also didn’t say who read the play wrong, Maye or Henry, just that they weren’t aligned. He’s one of the few analysts that gets these things right so I assumed that’s what it was.

London landed on Gonzalez’s head with all his weight. That could have happened to any player. Looks like he may have bit his tongue rather than a concussion. So there may be a chance he will be back next week.
Great, he's going to sound like Jim Kelly now.

Yes, I'm going to hell for that one.

Once kickoff happens it's never a good day to be in the GDT
It was funny at times, in the 1st half someone posted that the game was making them hard and the next 2 posts were complimenting the D. It was pretty funny, for me because I laughed a ton.

It really looked like he got the wind knocked out of him pretty hard. The big fear on that kind of play is a broken collarbone, in which case he would be favoring his arm, or broken ribs, in which case he would be favoring his side abdomen...he wasn't favoring either. That leads me to think he got the wind knocked out of him.
Only problem with that thought process is that Gonzo never returned to the field. Wind knocked out of you is usually a minute or two. Not gone for the rest of the game.

I thought pass rush was non existent .
It wasn't great, and our outside rush hasn't been good for awhile.
Thus why I've been pending the Edge drum if we make a trade. It's our biggest need.

This game shows that the team can be still good. Even if romo hit the ep drake ad the offense could drive the ball.

Team show it can over come bad game against an explosive potential team.

The pats shut down one of the best runners in the league again. It took more than a few crazy catches And an injury to the pats best CB to get the last td.

Next week will be even tougher after that it is a lot easier

Yep... provided it's the other guy ending up on the mat we all love fight night

I have never seen you as the one on the mat.

The Falcons made Josh Allen look like Mac Jones or Bailey Zappe in the last year of the Belichick era. So there may be fact it took a full half and Boutte going out for them for them to figure out how to rattle Maye gives me hope for rest of the way and winning the division. It will all depend on how bad the injuries are for today. Boutte and Gonzalez remaining on the sidelines are a positive.

This was a bad game for Maye. But looking at all of it... It is still decent from an NFL starter perspective. When your off games look like this, that's a good sign all things considered.

Oline has to be better. Maye is holding onto the ball, but it's not just him. Some of those sacks happened fast.
I was at the game today, and when you watch the line live, you see how bad they are. Not like 2024 bad, but bad nonetheless. The few times Maye had a little time, he made some excellent throws (the TD to Douglas). Really need to shore up the line in the offseason. They have some good young linemen that have potential, but they need a proven stud or two, they are gonna get Maye killed. Most of the time he succeeds DEPITE the line.
