Ugly game.
Injuries finally caught up. Boutte, Elliss, and Gonzalez all down. Hopefully, they'll be back after the Bye.

Not sure what the deal is with Maye and Kyle Williams. But Maye missed a wide open Williams in the End Zone and then threw the one ball behind Williams badly.

The O-line is still a work in progress. Wilson and Onwenu need to do better. I can't blame Onwenu on the play that led to the Maye Fumble, but he blew it on a play in the 3rd quarter.

Wilson is showing his growing pains as the LG. He's not the answer, long term, there. 3rd week in a row that he's actually been the weakest link.

Last year the Pats were the Falcons. They'd have a lot of flukey **** go their way and come CLOSE, but still find a way to lose with a key screw-up or two.

Good to be on the other side of that coin.

As Vrabels been saying, it’s hard to win in this league. It’s especially hard to win 6 in a row. You’re going to have let downs, other teams are going to make big plays. Well that happened, plenty went wrong and we still got out with a win.Sign of a good team. And it’s still a weird league. Steelers handle the Colts, Packers drop one to the friggin Panthers. Hoping for good news on the injury front. 7-2 LFG.

Gonzalez was the ONLY Patriot who could cover Drake London until he got injured. So I don't really understand the rationale either. CG is a legit stud talent at corner.
Jones got Plaxico’d on 2 of those TDs right ? It was like London was playing vs a short middle schooler.

The good - we won.

The bad - still need to see Maye make gane winning drives.

The ugly - I don't want to extend Gonzo

Why is that? Because he got intentionally injured by Drake London after London committed OPI when he purposely ran into Gonzalez?

Seriously, Ahmed, you're better than that.

It really looked like he got the wind knocked out of him pretty hard. The big fear on that kind of play is a broken collarbone, in which case he would be favoring his arm, or broken ribs, in which case he would be favoring his side abdomen...he wasn't favoring either. That leads me to think he got the wind knocked out of him.

Instant reactions:

- I guess this is why you spend a draft pick on a kicker, eh?

- I'm fine with winning ugly. Drake has to learn to shake that off, and having his coaches show faith in him to come through and ice the game with a throw is all to the good.

- Has a wire-to-wire victory ever felt LESS like one?

- &#!*#@!! injuries.

Boutte, Gonzo missing significant time will absolutely hurt this team. I think I’ve seen about enough from Williams this year. Kid can’t find his ass with both hands in the route concepts.

Gonzo…

This could very well be 5 weeks out given how long that hammy tweak took him.

Frustratingly, had he caught that INT that play never happens

Edit: Ellis also knocked out. He isn’t great, but we have NO depth
I "think/hope" Gonzo just go the air knocked out of him, maybe a chest bruise and staff played it safe. Don't think he misses time. Boutte little worried.

London landed on Gonzalez’s head with all his weight. That could have happened to any player. Looks like he may have bit his tongue rather than a concussion. So there may be a chance he will be back next week.

Semi-related: JEST fan Mike Greenberg hosted a short-lived game show on ABC called Duel. At one point, the goal was to win five games in a row to win $500K. If it had stayed on longer, I would've tried to get on so I could say "Mike, you're a Jets fan. I'm sure winning five games in a row seems like an impossible challenge."
