Some interesting matchups in the AFC this week. Some are no-brainers rooting wise, others are a bit trickier, and I was curious to hear who people are going to root for and their logic….

Ravens @ Dolphins – Root for the ratbirds to take down a division rival, or root for the bottom feeder phins to take down a reemerging AFC threat with Lamar now back? I’ll root for the fish.

Broncos @ Texans – Easy decision, albeit a longshot - Go Texans.

Colts @ Steelers – Another easy decision, and just as a longshot as above IMO.

Chargers @ Titans – again, go Titans, but I probably have better chances hitting the Powerball than Tennessee winning it….

Lastly, and probably the most intriguing match-up of the week:

Chiefs @ Bills – Root against the division rival or the red refs….

Dolphins. Hurts Ravens playoff chances, easy decision.
Texans, could help our playoff seeding. And it's not a long shot at all, I picked Texans to win.
Steelers, could help our playoff seeding. Not a long shot if the good Steelers show up, but that in itself is a coin flip.
Titans, could help our payoff seeding. Super loooooooooooong shot!
Chiefs, helps us win the division.

I think most of the games are obvious, though it I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger on the Rodgers and the Squeelers, even if it clearly benefits us.

Same for the Bills/Chiefs game. Sure, it would help us win the division, but we hold the division in our hands already, and it's a home game. I'm thinking about the long term legacy of our dominance here. I don't want KC to even make it to the AFCCG, let alone the Superbowl, and a loss here will help it, AND improve the overall reputation of the AFCE and make our division crown even more impressive.

Is that odd?

Wow, this is a thing we have to do again.

May it be so.

I'm with you. I hate the Chiefs even more than the Bills. At the end of the day, I'd much rather see the Bills in the Superbowl than those insufferable Mahomes, Mahauto, and Taylor Swift again.

I understand both your thoughts. I dislike the Chiefs and would hate to see them back in the SB.
That said, this is all about US.
Winning the division gives us at least 1 home playoff game and a better chance to advance.
So yes, this week I would prefer a KC win, as much as it pains me to say it.

Alot of these are tough calls without knowing how things will play out so very interesting discussion.

If we do win Sunday, we’re pretty much looking at 11-6 as our worst case scenario if Drake stays healthy which will guarantee wild card so Im not overly worried about wild card adversaries anymore (a loss to atl could change that). Therefore im going to pull for the lower ranked teams including the Steelers ( ewww).

Bills would be the exception, Im pulling for them against kc. Im an all or nothing kind of guy. As much as id love the division and guaranteed home game, the difference between a 1 seed and 2/3/4 is way higher than the difference between 2/3/4 and 5/6/7. Besides, if we do take care of the bills at home we should safely win the afce without them losing here. Even after the kc game their schedule is still tougher than ours.

as it stands today:
Fish over birds
texans over donks
clots over ****sburgh = they have a tie breaker over us
titans over sandieo of LA
flying bildos over the chiRefs... no need to give those asswipes any more momentum

Chiefs beating the Bills does little to assure us winning the division. It may help with a head to head tiebreaker. But we control our own destiny. If we beat the Bills in Foxboro we win the division. No need to look for KC to bail us out of our inability to win it outright.

Bills beating the Chiefs could mean hosting the AFCCG in Gillette not Arrowhead.

That’s good enough for me. I’m going with Ken and Danny.

Bills over the Chiefs. Kermit and the Chiefs threaten to be a bigger problem than Josh and the hurting Bills.

I would prefer a 2.5 lead in our division.
Just my opinion.

The Chiefs next three games:

@Bills
@Broncos
Colts

they could easily be 5-6 in 3 weeks!

They still have 2 games against the Broncos whose schedule is much easier than the Chiefs. If they lose 2/3 of these games, they are not catching the Broncos.

Rooting for:

The Fish over the Ravens. The sooner the Ravens are out the better.

Texans-easy choice

The Colts over the Steelers, because they lost to the Steelers I want them to lose as many as possible.

The Titans

The Chefs over the Bills

Good idea for a thread. It's nice to be in this position again. Its been a while.

Ravens at Dolphins
Miami is not a concern, even though they are in the same division.
Baltimore is different. Lose, to harm their playoff chances - or win, to hurt their draft position?
Rooting for the Ravens is just impossible; I'm rooting for Miami.

Bears at Bengals
Root for Cincy to be a thorn in the side to Pittsburgh and Baltimore.
Plus another win hurts their draft status looking ahead in the AFC in 2026 and beyond.

Vikings at Lions
Don't really care. Go with underdog Vikings.

Panthers at Packers
Root for GB, just to stick it to Aaron Rodgers.

Broncos at Texans
Root for Houston, to give Denver a worse record in the AFC when it comes to playoff seeding.

49ers at Giants
SF; the worse NYG is, the better their draft position - and therefore worse for other AFC teams.

Chargers at Titans
Tenn, in order to make LAC's record worse in the AFC

Colts at Steelers
Another really tough one.
Let's go with rooting for a Colts loss, so the Pats could be tied for 1st in the AFC.

Jaguars at Raiders
Root for the team with the better record to lose, so therefore go Raiders.

Saints at Rams
I love the Big Easy, plus it always feels go when the underdog wins. Go Aints.

Chiefs at Bills
Rooting for the meteor is the correct call, but . . .
Let's get some sepearation in the division.
I'm not rooting for the Chiefs to win; I'm rooting for the Bills to lose.

Seahawks at Commanders
Go with the underdog, go Commandos

Arizona at Dallas
The Cowboys on nationwide TV once again, uggh.
This one is easy, root against Jerrah and for Dallas to lose.

That is so funny

I want to point out if the Pats win the Conference then they win the Division. We play the Bills a second time at home, and if we win that game, we are 3 games up on Buffalo. I want to win the Conference so root for the Colts, Chiefs, Broncos, and Ravens to lose at every possibility. We want a Bye for Week 14 and 19.
