Miles Garrett is a legit possibility

Cousins, We would be in a more realistic position of trade if we went for Hendrickson. Is that a fair statement?
DW TOYS
Slightly better from our perspective I think
Nope. Hendrickson is not the player Garrett is, is older, and is injured. Hard pass.
Agree. Might be a bit more affordable, but neither is a good value proposition. Too much up front investment in draft capital for either of them, and that investment is buying a big cap hit. Better to draft and grow the players you drafted.

And as for the no trade clause, I think he'd LOVE to be in the atmosphere he saw on Sunday. He respects Maye. He has a good relationship with Vrabel. And he'd play on a contender for the rest of his career, so his extraordinary play would actually matter. He'd jump at the chance to play here.
Definitely agree with that.

But the expense is hard for me to swallow.

Here’s the thing: everybody wants a cheat code player.

We got a cheat code player when we acquired Moss. But that cheat code player cost a fourth, not multiple firsts. And having a cheat code WR coupled with a cheat code QB in the GOAT TB12 did not produce any Lombardis.

It’s a great fantasy but I’m convinced that like other wet dreams it’ll never become real.

Don’t understand this part of your statement at all.
We are competing now! And should be for the foreseeable future.
Garrett has at least say…3 good years left, if not more. He fits nicely in our current window
I'm saying he will be a shell of himself whenever Cleveland is a contender.

Wouldn't draft picks be better than hanging on to a guy who will be a shell of himself by the time you are competing.
He’ll be a shell of himself in three months?

Miles' comments after the game about being on 'this side' probably was just referencing the losing side.

But I think a big part of him was jealous and would have liked to be on an up and coming team.

I would trade multiple first rounders for this guy. Remember Reggie White vs. Max Lane? Miles is the sort of guy who could almost single handedly deliver a post season win via pivotal moments.

If they got Garrett...who do you focus on? Is it him? Probably right? So that leaves Barmore, Williams, Tonga, Landry and Chaisson one on one or better.

Yeah...I don't know what team could survive against that. I really don't.

I'm saying Cleveland was dumb to sign him because Garrett won't be good by the time they are contenders. If ever.
It’s about putting butts in seats. He’s about the only thing the Browns have to sell tickets.

Okay... but no one is trading anything for Wat$on. Although from what I've seen the derisive laughter in Jimmy Haslam's direction is still free and flowing quite abundantly at that
Point is, they can't do anything until they're out from under Watson's contract. The next highest is Myles Garrett, who they can actually get something for. Waiting 2-3 more years would be too late.

See my post above. I doubt they are moving him now, or anytime. Of course he did it to himself. Money vs a title.

One dude had 5 sacks last week.
The other dude was hurt again.

Like I said before, if this were anyone else, I'd probably be against it. But Myles Garrett is *already* a hall of famer, and still well within his prime. And his contract runs out around the time Maye's big contract would kick in. Garrett makes you a serious contender not just this year, but for the next 2. I mean Championship contender. He changes the equation.

Sorta. He begged Cleveland to trade him, to help the team going forward - you know, when they should have.
You are probably right.

I'm just stating what I think. If the Myles Garrett thing were real, it would change absolutely everything.

I wouldn't....but I'd actually have to think about it.

Funny thing is that you wouldn’t really have to worry about players in the locker room being disgruntled about some guy from out of town coming in and making way more than them because he just slapped the **** out of them by himself last week so they know he’s worth it immediately. I mean, they probably already knew, but they got to experience it personally.

According to Schefter no he absolutely isn’t.

Teams rarely trade amazing players within the conference, especially to an up and coming team… no GM wants to look like a fool.

It's unfair to say it "didn't produce any Lombardi's" when Moss was 30 when they acquired him and only played with Tom for 2 full years and 4 games in 2010. Not to mention, Brady was coming off an ACL tear in 2009. That's not much time.
