It was a home game, how could he miss a bed check
Late night…

Don't they stay at local hotel night before home games?
They do.
Apparently Vrabel re-instated bedchecks for everyone this season (not just rookies).

Considering Vrabel's answer at the press conference - his reasoning is, he wants the team to be safe and in one place before the game.

Who are you replacing 4 contributing players with mid season on a top 5 defense? How do you replace Mapu twice?
What 4 contributing players remain to be cut or traded?

A Monkey in the Amazon could have made a better selection than BB. I really liked TE Tucker Kraft that year.

Toof you're killing me.
You are that monkey and head of the clown show on this forum, and no you could not have done better. Sit down, shut up, and know your role. You are a freaking joke.

Will Vrabel move any of the remaining LB and EDGE players? I would replace Mapu.
Elliss
Tavai
Mapu
Jennings

The 4 he listed
Oh, sorry. I didn’t realize you took that seriously. I couldn’t see how it could be mistaken for a serious suggestion. My bad.

Too bad. I was hoping he could settle in as a run stuffing end and sub as an interior pass rusher occasionally. Has the build for it. Wish him well in SF but we're better off now, sadly.

It’s hard to get a good return for a guy who hasn’t done almost anything whatsoever in 2.5 years. He had like one single good game against Caleb Williams inexplicably crapping his pants.
Whites 2024 wasnt all that bad. His numbers are spread out over several games.

5 passes defensed
2 forced fumbles
5 sacks
31 solo tackles
7 tackles for loss
16 QB hits

Keeping White looked promising for 2025.

Plus, he’s in his contract year and yet . . . he couldn’t get on the field.

The only hope is that Purdy cant go this season and SF is picking relatively high in the 2026 draft.
They may be picking relatively high even if Purdy comes back. They’ve still got a lot of injuries. And Kittle may be back but is he able to play at his usual level?

I’d assumed we swapped a pick from late in the 7th for theirs in the middle of the sixth. It does seem there’s a good chance they’ll be picking earlier than we will.

Addition by subtraction:

- Frees up roster spots
- Frees up 2025 cap space
- Frees up 2026 cap space
- Gets rid of guys whose playing style and/or attitude didn't fit
- Minimal if any loss of production
- Adds 2026 draft capital

Now let's see what they do with this.
I think you checked most of the boxes, bit regarding Dugger, against the Titans he did play 100% of the defensive snaps and 48% of the ST snaps.
I actually thought 7 months after ankle surgery, he was rounding into 100% health and his play was on the uptick, as a position, safety, the team needed depth.
With Dugger gone, behind Hawkins and Woodson, the team has ST'ers Pettus and Schooler, and just signed a player off the Dolphins PS to the roster.
dangerously thin imo.

Interestingly, Dugger to the Steelers, where fellow ex Pat Peppers is not playing defensive snaps at all, but playing almost all ST snaps....

I agree that the numbers looked fine if you said “now imagine how this will look when he gets a coach who knows what he’s doing”. But in reality, nothing happened.

I remember when we played the Seahawks and he was downright dominant. It's unfortunate he didn't develop or fit the scheme.

He's not a Vrabel guy and this might be an addition by subtraction so I get why they traded him.

Something happened last week. Barmore was benched in first quarter and White and Dugger were healthy scratches. Vrabes just got rid of two guys he felt were negative influences and bad for the locker room.
Please share where you are getting that either guy was negative and bad for the locker. I havent read anything that says anything like that. They are gone because the cant perform in this system. I also believe the guys who are not brought on by this staff have less margin for error and could be shown the door quicker than someone who joined this year. Or at least it feels that way to me from what we have seen so far.
