2026 Draft: EDGE

Personally, I think a little bit of psycho in an EDGE rusher (Bailey, Young) is not a bad thing, so long as they can channel their aggression.
I think White has a bit more than a little bit of psycho and that did not work out.

Psycho and psych issues are 2 different things.

5 most important positions in football (no order):

EDGE is where we have a need for a high end player, also a need for depth pieces, and it's a premium position.

Have to play the draft board, but in an ideal world it would line up where this would be the position of our 1st rounder this year IMO.

Agreed, but unfortunately I don't see any likely EDGE options in the late 1st round worthy of the picks, at least, not right now.
Maybe an EDGE in FA? Philips, Hendrickson, Reddick, Key, Paye and others. Not a great class but maybe.

I've been touting that option for a while. I think Indy exercised Paye's 5th year option, though.

Patriots reportedly inquiring about Phillips, Jermaine Johnson (wanted the Pats to take him in 2022) and Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Kwity Paye was one of my binkies. A bit of a disappointment but another EDGE with 8 sacks and good against the run at a reasonable price at a young age might not be a bad signing.

While I won’t be swayed in my belief that we need edge pass rush, here’s the counter-argument.

It’s also a surprise, and credit to Barmore, that Milton Williams is at the bottom of the list.

Ian Cummings working on a 7th round mock, supposedly out later this week.

He has just to come the following conclusion:

I just noticed something about Clev Lubin.

Here are Clev Lubin's 2024 stats. Bear in mind he was at Coastal Carolina.

46 total pressures, 10 sacks, true pass set win rate - 42.6

Here are David Bailey's 2024 stats - 39 pressures, 7 sacks, TPS win rate - 46.5

Was it just Lubin playing for Coastal Carolina?

Here's 2025

Lubin - 37 - 5 - 39.7

Bailey - 50 - 11 - 41.3

Sure, Bailey has been noticeably more productive this year but in 1 game more. Those win rate percentages are pretty close though. Lubin would be a pretty good alternative to Bailey.

To each his own.
I'm not trying to out you here, I am curious as to what won you over to David Bailey Mayo because you were a little reticent at first. Of course, I welcome it but just curious as to what turned it round for you?

1. Manx is always right.

2. Bailey has upped his game.

3. Inside as well as outside game.

4. Disruption = production

5. Fit for Vrabel scheme.

Mainly #1.

The Arizona St. game was an important one for me, because Max Iheanachor did a really good job on Bailey outside, but he still got 2 sacks on inside moves.

Good players adjust and find ways to be productive, no matter what.
