Let me clarify. Cheezus.
The post I responded to referred to it as a New England thing. It's not an old New Englander value system, old yankee ingenuity or left over from something Dante Scarnecchia picked up from Chuck Fairbanks or whoever 150 years ago. It's what professional football teams have engrained into them as part of a winning culture. They, specifically Williams in this instance, know they aren't there yet. Williams didn't play for Bill, yet he's the one who says it. Playing at a championship level requires playing at a certain level, whether that's Pop Warner, HS, D3 college, major FBS football or the NFL, and Williams recognizes this.
Do I think that Bill's influence in some way affects Vrabel and JMcD? You betchya. Does Bill's coaching and teaching pump thru Williams veins? Nope, but he knows what it takes to play at the highest level, and that's part of the reason he was brought here. Now everyone can be rowing the boat in the same direction with one common goal.
Never said I wanted Bill's influence gone. Let's pump the brakes on that.
